Hi...just curious if you are able to skip a quest, and still move forward in the story of RDR2.  Say you are stuck and just can't complete a quest.  Will it let you just skip that and continue forward?

Thanks,

Depends on the mission. If it's part of the story, you'll have to get through it to progress. If it's a side mission, you should be able to ignore it.

Are you stuck because you're having trouble with something, or because of a bug? Maybe someone here will be able to help you with a little more information.

Yes, I'm having trouble freeing Micah (I really do not want to free him) so was hoping it would just let me skip that whole fight and continue on.  Not coordinated enough to get rid of everyone attacking us.

like @Poggy said if you fail enough you should get an option to skip on the screen where you choose to  restart at the last checkpoint, etc.  I've seen it there on some missions i had a tough time with but haven't used it yet, so not sure how far you skip ahead or what is skipped.

There's no timer for freeing Micah that i ran into.  I had to do that one a few times myself.  Make sure to use cover, and use the repeater or the volcanic pistol if you have it.  Also, use the cross cut bullets, you make them in camp from regular bullets.  they do almost as much damage as the express (i think that's the more powerful one) and you don't have to pay for them, you usually pick them up looting people.

In the fight i recommend staying in cover and do "pop-up" shooting makes things a lot easier.  Also make sure your auto aim is on and it will just lock on to your targets for you.

THAT was a fun mission...

If all else fails, just die a few times and you'll be given the extra option to skip that portion of the mission and continue on. I think you'll still have to free him, but you'll be able to skip the (in my opinion) fun part.
