What to do with gold?

What, if anything, have people used their gold to buy/do?

I just brought an improved horse (American Standardbread), turns out even horses of that tier require 5 gold to insure. It's probably best if users don't waste gold atm.

How much gold did that set you back?

I've played for about 30+ hours and have only about 3 gold.

I actually brought the horse with in game cash for $130,  I was just surprised that to insure even a horse of that standard it requires 5 gold. I only have 4.5 so far lol. Going have to ride careful for a while.

Man ... at this rate, it'll take, what, 150 hours of gameplay just to buy something with gold ...   Seems a redundant currency format.  It can only mean microtransactions - and i wonder how expensive that'll be?  How much for 10 gold,  I wonder?

That's the only thing I'm even considering spending my gold on, horse insurance. Have about 4.65 myself right now.  Tho I mostly do the story missions, and always keep at least a few revive potions, so have been considering holding off for a bit to see what will change.

First mission with new horse; horse gets insta shot in the face. This is going to be expensive it's $9.50 per reviver.

For you my friend, Rockstar can sell you just 10 golden nuggets for only $99.99.  Now friend don't shake your head.  You do this 100 times, then you my friend can be able to turn in all those golden nuggets for one useless digital artifact that is completely useless outside the game.   hehehehe

I dont mind limited MTs.  You know, pay a few quid for some cool cosmetics or what not.  Or even some cash for extra DLC content (I did buy UE after all).  Or even to get things a little bit quicker than most.  Fair enough.

But paying a lot of real cash for major advantage weaponry, horses, equipment, or even for sole access to stuff, or to get stuff massively quicker than others ... Seems a bit tawdry imho.  Still, businesses gonna business.
