Missions for camp members

How soon can I start doing errands for people in camp, like Abigail,jack, Charles, etc? I walked over to Abigail when playing last night, but it didn’t trigger giving her the 5 bucks mission

Some of these missions are time based, some are event based. You can try playing poker or the knife game in camp with other camp members and see if a request pops up in conversation. 

Also interact with other people’s personal possessions as that can prompt a conversation.

You just have to play the core of the game until it gives you the option. It will let you know if you carry on. Just check once in a while if you missed it. (by chatting with the folks)
