Did update change pelt loss?

Someone on another forum is reporting that death no longer removes stuff from his horse.  Anyone else found this, or is it bad info?

It seems to be totally random. When you get killed by a player, you lose everything. When you die while attempting a gang hideout, you sometimes lose everything. Either way, it's bloody annoying.

I noticed that the more I have on me, the more likely I am to lose it. Maybe this is just something that has only happened to me but anytime I have like 1 or 2 pelts and little food or anything else, I keep it but the second I am stocking up, I lose everything.

Don't know about death, but leaving the server will still take all of your pelts.

I've noticed this too. I checked last night, had a friend off me about 10 times in a few different ways/distances from my horse ( melee, gun,  dragged to death, etc...). Looks like they fixed it, all my pelts stayed.
