yeah i got it, just saying :)

i love the Lancaster repeater (third one, i may have the name wrong) and the dead eye at the oil refinery.  There's a shack on stilts on the east edge with a generator looking thing in it.  Kill a few people, hide in there and they'll all bunch up around the wagon and crates and stuff outside the shack,  you can dead eye all your ammo there if you're quick enough, then reload drink a dead eye tonic and do it again.

Challenge accepted and thank you

i wouldn't use dead eye on groups like that, but that's just me, each play their own way.  It's fairly simple to get a headshot,  aim, tap the left stick up and shoot.  headshot every time unless they're moving or move when you fire.

Personally, I never use Dead Eye in this game nor potions or food to bolster my character's abilities.  As for taking out large bands of enemies, when on foot, cover is where it's at.  Shoot from cover and remain in cover.  When on horseback, I will circle the area making sure to keep moving and adjust my distance.  I will then dismount when needed to finish them off

Don't let yourself get surrounded. Watch the minimap and flanking maneuvers.  When possible, engage from a distance.

Quite frankly, the auto-aim really makes engagements a no-brainer.  In a sense, options like this are really the difficulty setting in this game.  I have mine set to a low sensitivity and find that works best as I feel at its strongest it can be too controlling.

I actually hid and lived a little longer . Got a good ten outlaws before I was done in.  I'll get there.

So I know you mentioned the murfree Brothers earlier but I just found that if you go to Beaver Hollow kill the two guys out front they will slowly run out and you can practice your headshots I just made a body pile of like 20 guys then I went inside the cave and picked off the last four

oh...so there's 24 of 'em huh?  :)  piece o cake

Imagine how you'll feel! I rechecked and it was a pile of tenish, however if you can do the de Lobos, then step it up ( remember you're not going into the cave you're waiting for them to come out like chumps... Don't be ashamed of using Dead Eye 100% of the I believe this is the difficulty setting Rockstar put in: if you're not good at shooting they let you be good and if you're good at shooting you don't need to use Dead Eye)

Next you'll be ready to take on an ambush!

Remember that you do not get better at chess by winning....

You don't need to be good at shooting as auto aim takes care of that for you. You just need to make sure you position yourself properly so you don't get overrun and be quick to take care of the most immediate threats. .....and always shoot from cover when possible, watch for incoming reinforcements, etc.

RDR in this regard is more like a game of checkers than chess.

I was not comparing rdr2 to chess I agree with you that it's more like checkers. That was a chess metaphor for getting better at anything...

Best example I can give is my brother used to rant and Rave about how he good he was at Madden... I got sick of it when and of the settings check the difficulty saw that he was on easy and put him on All Pro... he started crying LOL( this is only funny because I was younger than him and he was way past puberty)

I did eventually show him what I did and we set it to medium as a compromise but I did get him to stop bragging...

I know.....   It was just an attempt at humor on my part.  Forgot the winky.  ;)

The gunplay and tactics in R* games are typically quite arcadey and rely heavily on aids.  It's always been more about the overall experience with them, the story telling, atmosphere, etc.  GTA and RDR are essentially the only games I will usually use auto aim in as I find free aim a bit awkward and not as fulfilling in that regard as say other TPV titles.

If they had a free aim session option in RDO though, I'd actually make and effort to use it.
