Stuck early in game chapter one:

I believe I've completed three sub chapters: Outlaws from the West, Enter, Pursued by a memory and finally Old Friends.

The next subchapter I need to complete is called "The Aftermath of Genesis"

I believe this chapter is trigger by speaking with Mr Pearson. I hold LT (xbox) on him but I don't see an interaction menu. He just sits there bystanders his fire not interacting with me. I'm stuck in camp with nothing to do. If I leave camp my horse dies and then I freeze to death. Not sure what I'm supposed to be doing in this game.

Can anyone help me out?

It's possible that you've not fully completed another outstanding task.

Tap <left> on your d-pad to bring up your task list and see if there are any missions you've not fully finished yet.

You could also try exiting the game to the main menu and trying again, or powering off your console for a minute to refresh the console cache (power off, not just standby).

You have the yellow marker for The Aftermath Of Genesis showing? 

Chapter 1 missions are all in sequence, you can't skip a part of a previous missions and still do the next.  So either you're glitched and need to do as @Foxtrot said and reboot the console to clear the cache, or you didn't fully finish Old Friends.  I don't believe they're timed, like must be daytime to show the mission marker like some as don't think there's a way to camp in chapter 1 to advance time, the camp option is greyed out if I recall correctly.

Ya there is some guy I lasso'd and is now tied up in the barn. When I hit the D pad leftward it says no pending missions or tasks. Nothing to do. I'm wondering if I should just replay prev missions as a solution. Tried restart xbox hmmm. Last mission I completed was "old friends" with a bronze metal beside it where you catch and hogtie Kieran.

Could always revert back to just playing overwatch lul.

so you caught him took him back to the 'camp' and dropped him on the ground for Dutch and others to take off to wherever.  If i remember right you should be able to walk up to Pearson and he'll start jabbering at you, i don't recall having to target and hit X to talk to him, but i could be wrong.

got a save point you can reload?  that might work to trigger the mission.
