Answer: We have identified an issue with certain NVIDIA graphics card drivers that cause significant stalls of several seconds on systems with 4-core and 6-core CPUs. Players with NVIDIA graphics cards and 4-core or 6-core CPUs should install the GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 441.34 from NVIDIA and remove any launch arguments to resolve this issue: Installing the latest GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 441.34 from NVIDIA Details: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4930 Remove any launch arguments from game launchers Rockstar Games Launcher Start the Rockstar Games Launcher Select Settings Under My installed Games Select Red Dead Redemption 2 Scroll down to Launch arguments Remove any Launch argument present Select Games Launch Red Dead Redemption 2 Epic Games Launcher Start the Epic Games Launcher Select Settings Scroll down to Red Dead Redemption 2 Check the box Additional Command Line Arguments Remove any Launch argument present Return to the Main Menu Launch Red Dead Redemption 2
Trespasser Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 (edited) Here's what to do for Nvidia users (i dunno about AMD, sorry). This is from RS support, so i thought i'd save you the trouble of visiting their site. 1) download and install Nvidia hotfix driver 441.34 (while it's called a hotfix it'll be your driver from now on. This overrides the previous). 2) In the RDR2 launcher remove the "cpuload Rebaalance" launch arguement if you have it. Restart computer and play. Enjoy!! So far after an hour of roamin around the homestead and outside i had no stutters. Not even one. So far, i got my fingers crossed. But anyhow, Thank you RS for making good on what you promised earlier . Much obliged. And now the real fun begins! Edited November 20, 2019 by Trespasser
