New Update Causes Crashes

Hi guys, new member here.

The new update from 072820 has caused my game to crash!  I can boot into the menu, but when I start  story mode or free roam the screen goes black and crashes.  I also cannot access the settings without the game closing down completely.  No error messages.

I spent about 5 hours talking with a support rep from Rockstar, and for right now the case has been escalated.  Has anyone experienced this issue since the update?  From my research this seems like a problem that's exclusive to my system.  Windows 10, 64GB Ram, Intel i7-8700K, Nvidia GeForce 1080ti.

Hi Krimzon and welcome.

Sorry I can't help you with your issue but here's hoping someone can.  If anything, at least it seems your getting some level of support from R*.  I wish you luck on getting this sorted.

Also on PC but haven't seen this happen to me same system except NVidia 970 - the "error" I get means I can't tab when in game as it locks the whole PC up - fiddled with a few graphics session earlier but still same problem.
