Points of Interest Guide

The Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode includes several different types of collectibles that are not so easy to find, often making players go all over the map to find them. In this guide, we look at all the Points of Interest, detailing their precise location on the map. We will list them by region, starting with the New Hanover area and ending with New Austin, which can only be explored safely after completing Chapter 6.

Points of Interest Overview

There are 50 Points of Interest in the Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode. These are special locations that can be inspected to make Arthur draw a sketch of them on his notebook. As already mentioned, finding just one is enough to meet one of the requirements for 100% Completion.

New Hanover

The Heartlands

Warped Tree

The Warped Tree can be found a little to the south of the "H" in New Hanover on the map. The tree is south of the small farm of Larned Sod. If you continue going south of the farm, you will find a large tree on top a hill. Get close to it to inspect it.

Register Rock

The Register Rock can be found to the west of the "H" in New Hanover on the map, right below the second "I" in the Heartland Oil Field on the map. The point of interest is a large rock with some writing on it surrounded by trees.

Oil Derrick

The Oil Derrick can be found a little to the south of the gap between the "A" and "R" in Heartlands on the map. Near the Oil Derrick, you will also find some items, and a letter. If you descend down the ladder, you will also find a Dinosaur Bone.

Trading Post

The Trading Post is extremely small, so it's easy to dismiss it as another unremarkable building. It can be found to the east of Flatneck Station. Enter the trading post to find some canned good and High Velocity rifle cartridges.

Brush Fire

The Brush Fire can be found to the west of the "N" in New Hanover on the map. Search the area to find the remains of burned grass and trees and look around to find a burnt out cart, which is the point of interest to inspect. There's also a lockbox containing a Gold Nugget, Ground Coffee, Miracle Tonic, and the Volatile Fire Bottle Pamphlet.

Otis Miller and the Arabian Prince

The Otis Miller and the Arabian Prince point of interest is found inside a cabin to the northwest of Valentine, across the Dakota River. The cabin is marked as Clawson's Rest, so you can find it easily if you have already explored the area.

Otis Miller and the Black-Hearted Lady

The Otis Miller and the Black-Hearted Lady point of interest can be found to the southeast of Emerald Station, to the south of the gap between the "O" and "V" in New Hanover on the map.

Wild West Heroes 132

The Wild West Heroes 132 point of interest is another book that can be found to the southwest of Valentine, inside Downes Ranch.

Black Sheep

The Black Sheep is a unique animal that can be found near Guthrie Farm, to the north of the Heartland Overflow in New Hanover. The animal can also be killed after it has been inspected to get its meat.

Cumberland Forest

Barrel Rider

The Barrel Rider can be found to the north of Bacchus Station. Just head north of the train track to spot a cliff overlooking the Dakota River. Find the waterfall, then head down the cliff to reach its base and find the Barrel Rider point of interest to inspect.
