  1. I purchased the Advanced Camera and I'm very impressed with the camera and the period filters. The camera allows you to take photos in game with a wild west era touch. The camera is an expensive purchase but well worth it. Here's a photo of me and my horse using the tintype filter. From Wikipedia, tintype seen it's widest use during the 1860's and 1870's. Caught this photo with lightning using the silver gelatin filter or gelatin silver process. From Wikipedia, the gelatin silver process was first introduced in 1871. Here's another photo with lightning using the daguerreotype filter. From Wikipedia, the daguerreotype process was widely used during the 1840's and 1850's. Photo of Valentine using the carbon print filter. From Wikipedia, carbon print was invented in 1855. Photo of my horse using the woodburytype filter. From Wikipedia, the woodburytype was discovered in 1852 and patented in 1864.

  2. I can’t say for certain, but I’m pretty sure compact optics were pretty much non-existent towards the turn of the 19th century.
