I have mixed feelings about this tbh. I've always steered away from PvP online games for a couple of reasons: 1. I'm a bit old, slower reactions and tbf a bit s&%t. So its difficult to get good when much better gamers kill me so quickly and its just too frustrating. 2. I have always come into PvP games a bit late and knowing the maps etc gives a huge advantage, as does having to start out with rubbish weapons etc (yes I know you can buy gold, but after spending £50 on the game I have no intention of buying more stuff to play online) So, in a way, I guess the auto-aim can help people like me have a chance to get started. BUT, it also means it is too easy for ALL players (even Lvl 1-5) to get quick and easy headshots. Whereas, now I'm getting better at aiming I would probably prefer no auto-aim making it more of a skill game. I realise that much of the set-up of the game (skill-cards, higher level weapons etc) is designed to favour those who have levelled up, thereby encouraging newer players to spend actual cash to close the gap, and as it is about creating revenue for the developers I can see why they would do that. So I guess it would be good to have a few servers that disabled auto-aim and maybe some PvE servers, or perhaps servers dependent on level (e.g. all players Lvl 1-20; 21-40; 40+ would be grouped in a server together) but I don't see that there is a financial argument to Rockstar/Take 2 to use resources to introduce aspects of the game that make spending money on bars redundant.

Just wish I had my scary mask from story mode to wear whilst doing it. Maybe I'll try dropping dynamite into a few prams!!

I realised yesterday that my auto=aim seemed really slow and unresponsive so I played around with the settings and it now seems much better. These are my settings now: Lock-on (foot) <wide> Assist - Max Lock-on Mount wide> Assist - Max 3rd Person Look Sensitivity - 2 clicks to right Aim Sensitivity - 2 clicks right Acceleration - 2 clicks down from max Dead Zone - off (all the way left) I also disabled "HDR". Not sure that helped but seems easier to pick things out now.

I've had that as well, but normally the "griefers" can't kill the leader (not everyone can see the hideout splodge). As for Treasure maps, I shouldn't worry. I've cleared loads of them and never had a map (whether I kill or spare him). Maybe you can only get a certain number including leveling up maps (I had one every 5 levels until lvl20) Maybe someone else here can give better info on that.

Actually, its been ok, most don't have it switched to "public" the only issue I have is much of the "chatter" I hear is arabic or french for some reason. But your right about the occassional " I'm going to kill you mutha&*^%^&". But I've learned quite a lot of tips by chatting to higher level players on how they levelled up, and where to farm etc.

I use it all the time, its much better to chat to posse members. I've made some "friends" by chatting to people, especially ones that have "owned" me during feuds. I really will have to stop taking on lvl 100+ players!!!

I know, but everytime I skin stuff it raises my honour level, just can't get to maximum dishonour!!

I didnt think you could tame wild horses online

I've been wondering what R* will introduce next to encourage us to part with our hard-earned for Bars. I have already got everything I want (weapon wise), with perhaps the exception of a pair of Volcanics, and I certainly would not consider parting with real money to buy a new online hat (even if it was REALLY stylish!). Given that this is late 19th century, what weapons would you like to see introduced going forward?

I agree with both above comments. I use the Lancaster the same as Truth, but I believe the Varmint to be the quickest and most accurate, and has enough power to one-shot an opponent with a head-shot.

Well, I think I'm just showing my complete ignorance of all firearms. As you say this is not a rifle sim, and I hadn't even considered all the things you mention, although it makes sense now you do. I've only ever fired an air rifle and a 4-10 shotgun when I was young. As I said previously, us Limeys just never come into contact with guns, so its not something I know much about. But thanks for taking time to explain, I appreciate it.

Not sure. I got the War Horse for pre-ordering, maybe they made it available for everyone.

That's awful Red!! You really mean that I've got to go and shoot the place up willy-nilly. Oh well, its a dirty job but someone has to do it I suppose...

If there was no profit incentive no big games would ever get written.

Mine was playing up for the last two days, but it was fine again last night. May have been improved by clearing the cache (which I did last night), not sure. But seems ok again now.

Think I'd better dig the PS3 out, don't think I ever actually played Undead Nightmare.

Well, you've just made my day. The Lancaster in the game sounds great. Perhaps you can answer this then. The stats for the repeaters is almost the same, but I'm sure the Lancaster has a longer terminal range. The other day some guy shot me in Fort Mercer while I was clearing a hideout, I respawned outside some way off and he just stood on the battlement waving at me. I was aiming my rifle but he must have thought he was out of range..foolish boy!!

A nasty thought...what's happening.. ?
Tenti replied to Mpegforever's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I've been gaming since I bought a ZX81 then Spectrum Atari etc etc, but I have always avoided online/co-op. I tried COD & GTO, but just didn't like it. However, I've been doing this one online and really enjoying it. I've met a couple of people n here, so can often posse up, and its good fun. Maybe because its not so intense and a bit more open, but you can have a good craic while playing. You don't have to get involved in the madness if you don't want to. Maybe its because I don't have other games to compare with, but I really like both story and online. I thought griefing was a problem when I first started, but now I quite like it. I'm better than I thought so I can hold my own, plus its pretty easy to avoid. Also, we're all outlaws on here, and whooping it up WIld West Style is kinda fun. Anyway, each to their own, although I'm not sure this has the scope for future development online as GTA, so I'm interested to see where R* go with it over time. -
Yeah, I too am dead simple though!!!

Looks good, a bit long so I'll watch it later. Being in UK we don't get to see firearms, let alone fire them! Amazing just how reaiistic the guns in the game are, I'd never actually seen any of them outside of High Chaperral! I was disappointed there wasn't a WInchester available, but I expect that will be made available later to encourage us to buy Gold Bars. Great posts though Kean_1, keep it up!! He says the Winchester66 is in the game!!! Not in mine!
-
Kean-1, I think we need a serious chat about fantasy/reality ... I don't even own a Nerf!!!!

Top post HooverRad, can you do one for Repeaters as well.

Of the 3 listed I concur, but must say in story mode I had a pair of fully modded Volcanics which were just awesome. Sounded great too!
