Small weak batches? Not a big deal, just put them together and run them through the, um, wait we're talking about in the game right? Do continue..... I was happy to see the stats on the Navy pistol making it a decent gun, very happy to have that particular shootin' iron available. I'm only a few days away from being able to pick up the game and it makes me excited for it even more. I am sure they are going to get these issues straightened out, I have seen games recover from far worse launches and do very well indeed. Rockstar seems to be putting in more effort than a lot of other game companies I have dealt with over the years, so I can be rather more patient with them if need be.

With bills, and Holidays coming, etc. it will be next month before I can purchase the game, In the meantime, is it possible to download the game for later activation? Some online games offer this. It's a pretty hefty download, and I'd like to be able to get at least the bulk of it now so there will be less delay when I am finally able to activate it. (It may take me several days/tries to download it all with my slower internet connection at 100+ GB) I want a completely legit copy, not something from a "grey area" if you get my drift. I am a 100% above board gamer, and a search keeps bringing up sites that I find suspect. I have made a social club account, but don't see any way to create a game account on the company web site (unless they are both the same thing.) I am surprised at how difficult they make it to really navigate their site in some ways. I sure wish I had known about the pre-order in time!

If it gets bad, I guess we could just form a "Vigilance Committee" then

Most of my life I have lived in remote areas, so never had an issue with it other than one time in the Arizona desert. If you want to hear about it, I'd be happy to type it out, it's a hoot! I am too good natured and have too much of a mischievous streak to just yell. And right now, at my cabin in Florida, it'd be more of "get outta my woods!"

Sounds to me like the whole problem could be solved by introducing a new mode, called, say "passive" or something. This mode would be PvE only, the player cannot fire on/damage other players or be fired on, and it would be suspended if going into a PvP event. If they did this rather than change the defensive mode further, they would have settings that would cover easily 90% or more of the preferred play styles of their players, most everyone would be able to play just as they wish. Just my 2₵.

I thought being brain dead was a prerequisite for being a Nickleback fan. Maybe it's just this forum, but I have had no feeling of dread asking a question or reading a reply to any of my posts here, unlike several other games. In one game years ago, actually had a player making physical threats against me, too (flight sim, I shot down an enemy plane in a fight he had "claimed" for his squad, you know the type). That already puts this a cut above other games. Sure, there is always the jackass that you run into in any game or online activity, and some whom I suspect are mentally ill, but it seems that certain games attract them more than others. While I would prefer defensive stance to put me into a PvE only mode, I will accept them marking anyone who messes with me as an aggressor, and let me deal with them without penalty as the defender. I'll admit that on occasion it will be nice to be able to put a bullet into someone who genuinely deserves it, too. From what I am seeing and hearing, griefing isn't near as bad as some other PvP enabled games, I can deal with it. So far though, it really is a notch above my experience with other PvP enabled (and a number of non PvP as well) games overall, and several above certain specific games I've tried. Maybe it's due to the apparent age difference? This game seems to have an older player base, but I have met 13 year olds in games that were more mature than some 30 year old players over the years. Hard to say.

I recommend just keeping an eye out, especially with "black Friday" coming up, you might find a great deal on one. There are also quite a few Wacom units on the used market, and used Wacom in good shape is usually a good bet, just the normal precautions apply as for any used electronics. The great deals are out there, you just have to be persistent and ready to move on it when you find it.

They could be similar to the entertainer class in SWG. Each time you visit a prostitute, (or she plys her trade) there is a chance for either party to get the pox, which makes you lose core health that won't be restored until you visit the doctor. The core loss continues to grow worse over time if you don't. But she provides a buff to core stamina (since there isn't a morale core) if you avoid the pox. The pox is guaranteed to be passed along to the other if either party has it at the time of the transaction. The question really becomes how far can RS go with the visuals of the transaction before it goes above a simple "M" rating.....

Mine is a play on words. I am Scots-Irish and Indian (Cherokee and Sioux) Fael is Gaelic for little wolf, then wolf for my Indian heritage, and together it becomes little wolf-wolf (woof woof). It's uncommon enough that I rarely have someone else take it, but in this game apparently some kid in Brazil has it for GTA 5, so had to add a final e over at Rock Star. But such is life.

If you love old guns and the Old West, you will be doing yourself a great service if you do stop in. It has to be seen to be believed.

When I lived in Arizona, I spent the 10 years carrying a model 1875 Remington in 45 Colt (Uberti calls it the "outlaw") still fond of it, but then a 1858 conversion in 45 Colt came my way a couple years ago, full six rounds, loading gate, and all. The '75 is a little more practical, but I just love that '58. (Think of the gun "Angel Eyes" carried in TGTB&TU) Got a Henry rifle and a mare's leg in the same caliber paired with it, but going to pick up a '92 saddle carbine when shinier times come around. Also in discussions with the wife about moving back to AZ now that I'm retired. If we do, will go back to every day carry. For concealed carry, I have an original S&W .32 lemon squeezer. Not a huge caliber, but would get the job done.

Thanks, I'll see if I can look it up!

Mint M&M's. I hoard them when they come around. Christmas is heaven for peppermint lovers. Also those chocolate oranges, but they are too pricey for me to get more than one or two when I find them. They sure are proud of 'em.

I will agree that the player base for this game seems to be a cut above some other games I've played over the years, and certainly a lot less snark. Maybe we should start a posse' called "The Over the Hill Gang"

Didn't do anything. Not much goes on around here to begin with, and Halloween hasn't been the same since the wife caught on to the fact that no trick-or-treaters are going to come to a lone cabin in the woods in the dark, so my annual candy supply has dried up.

If you have Netflix or other streaming service, for a western, I'd recommend Hell on Wheels. It ran for 5 seasons, and was pretty decent for a TV series. Edit to add I realized that may not be current enough. For a non-western my wife has got me really into watching "The Blacklist" I really enjoy the main character. (But I find it hard not to like James Spader in anything)

Ha! Not used to an older gaming audience, hadn't occurred to me. Seems this game attracts more of an older generation, which is a good thing in my book!

The lack of regulation also resulted in risk for the actors and stunt men. In The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Eli Wallach was almost killed twice. Spoiler alert if for some reason you haven't seen the movie:

I grew up with these shows and movies in the 60's-70's. The spaghetti westerns actually caused a bit of controversy at the time, John Wayne even wrote a letter to Clint Eastwood after the release of High Plains Drifter telling him basically "this isn't what a Western should be, those aren't the kind of people this country was founded by" (paraphrasing of course). They were a dark and gritty departure from the "white hat" era, or the grandeur of a John Ford production. My generation of course, fell in love with the Spaghetti westerns when they came around. I have a decent collection of them on DVD now, and continue to build it. Other than the major ones, like the Dollars trilogy, if you lived somewhere other than a big city, you didn't get to see films like Django and the like, so we had to catch them on late night TV, heavily censored. By the mid-late 70's the spaghetti western genre began to parody itself, and we got films like "My Name is Nobody" "Ace High" "Boot Hill", and the Trinity series. They became less bloody, gritty, and dark, and became fun romps. By the 80's it was all over. For modern parodies/humor/quirky, check out Rustler's Rhapsody, Three Amigos, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. One of the hallmarks of all the spaghetti westerns were the low budgets. The most expensive one ever produced (to my knowledge) was The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, which was paid for by an American studio (United Artists) and was filmed for roughly $1.2 million. But the low budgets were are large part of their charm. I am very glad to see the younger generation discovering all these great films and shows. Be sure to look up John Ford and check out some of his movies.

LOL I'm old, a Dead Head to me is a fan/follower of The Grateful Dead, a band from the 60's you may have heard your grandparents talk about. So my first thought was "WOW are they still around?"

Aside from Wacom, which is certainly not budget friendly, your two choices for anything of acceptable quality are pretty much X-Pen and Huion. Both of these companies' tablets were, let's say, less than stellar performers starting out, but really upped their game in the past couple years. I am assuming, of course that by tablet you mean the WYSIWYG LCD drawing tablets, and not the old style digitizers that have no screen. (Those are still around but becoming rather obsolete anymore.) There are a number of YouTube reviews on the various models, some of which can be found in the sub - $300 range for the smaller ones. There is also the used market, but given the unimpressive performance of the older X-P/H tablets, I'd avoid them. Wacom's patent on the RFID pen has expired, along with most of their other patents, so we are starting to see a lot of good tablets coming out now that don't require tethered or battery powered pens. You will see a lot of cheap LCD tablets with unknown maker's names, I'd recommend to avoid them and stay with one of the big 3 makers already mentioned. Most of the off brand ones are basically Wish.com knockoffs. Like everything in life, you get what you pay for, and it pays to educate yourself before purchasing, so go check out those YouTube vids.

So who here is getting the PC version of the game?
Faelwolf replied to KVNknowsbest's topic in Red Dead Online
Wife let slip today that it's going to be my Christmas present, possibly a couple weeks early. I don't own a console, so it's been a long wait as it is, a few more weeks won't matter. I wonder if my watching all those Youtube vids about it might have been her clue........... -
I'm keeping an eye on this thread, my system is pretty out of date by modern standards, but can still run DCS World multiplayer, which can grind high end systems to a halt, without hitching or crashing at medium - select high settings. I expect similar performance at low - select medium settings for RDR2, which I can live with. If not, will hold on to the game until I can upgrade my rig. I would love to build a much better rig now, but at current costs that is out of the question for at least a couple years yet. (Mainly so I can run VR in DCS, but will be good for things like this as well) I already use a 1080p TV, not looking to go 4K until I can build the better rig later on. By then, the way prices are dropping, I might be able to send in a couple box tops and get a 4K TV. While I will be building a better rig in the future, $4-$6K now just isn't a reasonable expenditure to me, especially to support just one or two games. I'll come in about the time when the cutting edge now is less than cutting edge and get a great update to my build for far less, picking up pieces as I come across them at the right price. In the meantime, while eye candy is great, I have found that some things can be done away with entirely in the settings and others can be lowered quite a bit and still look good. Frankly some things look better on low than high, depending on the game's implementation of them. Of course should I hit the lottery or find out I had a very wealthy relative I never knew about leave me money, that can change......

Thank ye kindly. I am a (now retired/disabled) old historical re-enactor for the Old West and Civil War. Now that health won't allow me to be active anymore, this game looks to be a dream come true. Looking forward to it.

I am no expert (just informed by the wife that this game is coming as a possibly early Christmas present, with my promise I'd shut up about it already LOL) but I have been doing a lot of reading up and familiarizing myself with the game for a few days now. So for what it's worth from a total greenhorn, I would like to see a trapper/mountain man profession. I know hunting is already in game, but it could be interesting to see it fleshed out (pardon the pun) to be a provider for the posse, or bonuses like access to more or better quality pelts, etc. I also agree with the sentiments of others here that professions being further integrated into sales/team play would be nice. From what I've seen they have done a great job of making this a somewhat realistic Old West sandbox, adding more player interaction capabilities would expand that quite well.
