Hello Everyone,

I work at Rockstar and just wanted to clear a few issues up.

Rockstar has taken notice of everyone's complaints, but I can confirm that no one is working on a patch to resolve this particular problem as of today.

I was at a meeting today and it got brought up, and the general gist was that it wasn't a big enough problem to be considered a priority.

As an owner of a playstation, I urge everyone to spread this issue on social media to get the proper attention and resolution.

Quite frankly, with the number of copies sold so far, it's not a surprise Rockstar isn't taking this seriously, and I feel it's on us as gamers to stand up for ourselves sometimes.

Good luck

No you don’t 🤣

Lemkys, seriously? My buddy has it on 1x. I saw it yesterday. It was very clear and sharp. Maybe not PERFECT... but clear and sharp...

are you just messing with us? Have you tried turning HDR off?

I think he's talking about motion blur, every version has it. This effect can't be disabled at least for now.

I don't think X1X version is completely perfect because it uses the same type of anti aliasing used on PS4 PRO, it just doesn't look so bad because X1X outputs true 4k, X1X has the same issues with motion blur and depth of field that has PS4 PRO.

The more I am playing the less I am noticing any blur so either

my eyes have just accepted it and is blocking it out

or it gets better the more you play

I think it’s most likely the first but it actually looks really good all of a sudden 🤷🏻‍♂️

good times.

For me, if I play after a couple of beers, I start getting engrossed in the awesome story and action. But if I look closely and want to look at a distance (woods, mountains, etc) or at Arthur’s outfit and hair, the. The blur/muddiness is super apparent. Not PS4Pro Caliber YMMV

Looks absolutely gorgeous running on a One X hooked to a Samsung KS8000, using settings from rtings.com.  I really hope this gets worked out soon for you PS players.  The game is stunning.

Probably doing both at the same time tbh.

Well it is Monday. Will see today if they actually acknowledge problem. And to be fair they should at least post some official  information about working on fix. If we won't here from rockstar today... I doubt they will do anything. Can you imagine how annoying It would be with online/multi mode... Some users seeing perfect picture and some just massive blobs in distance. Heh

This is incredible 2 weeks and no patch. Almost finish the game and no patch for this.

Yes, it is disappointing. You'd think R* would be on top of it, seeing this is now their flagship title.

I would like to say something about the sharpness slider again.

Restart PS4 Pro and set the picture settings to 1080p.
Then start RDR 2 and start playing.
Now with the PS button again to the PS4 settings and the resolution on 2160p-RGB output.
With the PS button back to the RDR 2 Game and there in the settings display, there is now a Shaprness slider. Push it all the way to the left, back to the game.
Then again to the sharpness slider and push all the way to the right. Turn off HDR
Now the game should also be sharp on the PS4.

Sorry for my bad english 🙂

I just wanted to say that this worked for me. The game now looks nice and sharp on my 4K TV.

I still want Rockstar to fix their implementation of Checkerboard Rendering on the PS4 Pro, but this workaround has really improved my quality of life with the game.

Guys, are you seriously? This does not work. This slider is immediately at the maximum and when you change its position, nothing changes. This slider does not work in 2160p. At least it doesn't work for me.

The only thing I did different was I turned the Sharpness Slider down to 0 BEFORE I turned the resolution back to 2160p, THEN I went back to the menu and increased it to max. It isn't perfect, and it isn't a huge difference, but it is a definite improvement.

I sit about 4 feet back from a 55-inch 4K Samsung TV and the blurriness was driving me crazy. I haven't played around with it a lot (getting ready for work), but I'm in the mountains and the ground definitely gets sharper when I use the slider. I even noticed a little bit of a 'halo' effect you can get from sharpening filters on the edges of Arthur's fingers when he holds a business card.

It isn't going to fix everything - Rockstar was pretty aggressive with the Depth-of-field, Bloom, Motion-blur combo in this game.

Yes, but NO. I don't have to make any such ridiculous adjustments when playing any other PS4 game. And they all look better than RDR2. This needs to be fixed by ROCKSTAR.

It works (for me) if you move the slider first to the very left (0) and after that to the max on the right. HDR ist still f* and need a fix. At least I can play the game without headache now.
