Moosh's Introduction

Hey everyone, my name is Melissa but everyone I know calls me by my childhood nickname of "Moosh". I recently turned 29 years old and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. I am also physically disabled and use a power wheelchair. I've always been a big gamer, I'm the youngest of 5 kids and I mostly gamed with my brothers growing up.

I live somewhat rural with my parents. Growing up, my Dad and sister had many horses, with both of them competing in local rodeo events, my Dad as a chariot and chuckwagon racer for many years and my sister as a chariot and barrel racer and recently roping or team roping. My Dad recently sold all of his horses and returned to his first obsession, motorcycles. It was getting to be too difficult to manage a rodeo career by himself as chuckwagon racing requires a large number of barn hands and relief drivers/holders.

Back in 2009-2010 I was eagerly anticipating Red Dead Redemption. I was a regular member on the IGN RDR forums. The day my brother drove to our nearest EB Games/Gamestop store to pick up my preorder for me (a 1.5 hour drive one way), I had the game spoiled, 2 hours before I even got it in hand. I was pretty miffed. I played it for a week or so but it also felt really depressing and there was a lot of dark/creepiness to it, which bothered me. I ended up shelving the game for about 2 years before dusting it off and finally forcing myself to finish it. I was gutted since I waited for it with such enthusiasm and was severely let down. So when RDR2 started picking up steam in development, I was VERY cautious.

So far, I haven't had it spoiled yet and I'm really enjoying it a lot! There's some creepiness here and there but the game seems much lighter in tone than RDR1 which is great.

I'm really glad I found this forum as the IGN boards are dead, and there seems to be a very active effort to shield spoilers around here, which is a HUGE relief!

I think I'll like it here...
