Picking Up Weapons Off Ground.

I am having a problem picking up weapons off the ground. I have tried several times and have Failed !!  I see the command down in the lower right hand corner and do not understand why it does not work. Thanks

Try picking up the body and moving it first?

I could not pick up the body instead I tried to move by walking into his body still no go. I could not even go into the cabin to recover an item I needed . So I Quit and came back later to recover item. Thanks for the reply.

I had the same issue... I'm on PS4, and what worked for me was, holding L1 to pull up my weapon wheel,  and choosing which weapon I wanted to swap with the one on the ground and then letting go of L1. Hope this helps.

Draw  the weapon you want to drop and then just quick tap L1.

Tap L1. Whatever weapon you drop should become available again once back on your horse.

Thanks for the info. I have found that I had to Double tap the L1 to pick up a weapon off the ground. I like your avtar is this person related ?? I have a photo of My Great Grandfather that looks close to this. He was of German / Cuban decent. My Grand Father was borne in 1898. So this game its home for me.

If you've tried the recommendations in this thread, then I'd suggest waiting until someone else can chime in hopefully with another alternative.  

Also, welcome to the forums.  I will delete you other threads you created on the same topic.  New posts from new members need to approved first which may be why you tried posting several times.

HELP    I can't pick up the gun with LB on the first mission.... keeps me in the barn.... how do I get that gun?

this is Buzz again..... I see this is the first post since 2020 on the topic of picking up the gun and I am hopeful there is a solution.

I am JUST starting gaming so there's a challenge for sure but I have a brain and can learn... just looking for someone who knows what's cooking. I have a new Steam Deck and have yet to receive the docking station or controllers but I do not believe they will change the performance issue. I can get in the barn in Mission One of the RDR2 series and after beating the crap out of another outlaw can not get the hand held Steam Deck to pick up the gun.

LB doesn't react. I've tried using Proton Expiremental, Beta, reading everything I can get, reaching out to Steam, reaching our to RockStar... and do not have a solution 8 hours or so into the Battle to Begin.

If there is a kind soul out there who can provide guidance, I am poised to be a supplicant (on line).Thanks for reading... Buzz

I neglected to mention this was RDR2 and not RDRO.
