LiamWoodward Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I am in the middle of Chapter 6 and want to get all the camp upgrades finished. The last one I have is the moose antlers and for the life of me I can’t find a single moose. I have been to all known location of moose spawning but to no avail, I went back and forth between them for 8 hours hoping to find one. Nada. If anyone else has this problem or has a solution please help. I love this game but at this rate it getting really sick of it.
Saltyballs Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 (edited) Set camp in the Grizzlies West just south of Mount Hagen (or near by), save and head toward Lake Izabella approaching from the west path. One should spawn on the west side of the lake fairly high up (Just past the raised land). If it doesn't spawn or it's not three star just load your save and try again. I also found one near the Aurora Basin however I have no idea about how to force that one to spawn. As a side note fully upgrading the camp is literally pointless, not only do you not get an achievement for doing it but post chapter six the camp no longer exists. LiamWoodward Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Thanks I’ll give that a try but I thought there would at least be an achievement, i know you get kicked out eventually, so all that time spent looking was basically for nothing, awesome

Stallionsden Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I spent ages going to each location multiple times lol. It was annoying. I got 2 cougar perfect pelts quick lol. Finally tho up in the snow after searching near the legendary buffalo I decided before I left to check the little lake east of it and sitting in the middle of it finally was a bull moose lol. It's just a matter of patience and right place right time sort a thing I think
gigemaggs99 Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I went up to this location, saw a large moose, got off my horse to track it, I came around a tree and poof the moose vanished. It was strange, it's like it just disappeared.
Kormath Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 i've killed numerous moose at Lake Isabella, just to the south of it where the legendary horse spawns. Killed a perfect Bull while chasing the damn Legendary Bison. By the way, you can't kill the Bison with the Varmint Rifle. Shot him 5 times before i realized i had equipped the wrong rifle.🤫 I see a couple almost every time i go up to the lake there. There's a fallen down shack to the west of the lake, i see them in the that area often if they're not around the lake. 1
Poggy Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 It is annoying that these go and you are left with nothing to show for it.
Zanarkand Wolf Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) Spent FOUR DAYS trying every known spawn location; using various levels of BAIT. Cannot see even one male moose in dozens of hours. It is so aggravating. There simply is no guaranteed location I have ever seen. People post all these many locations, and that doesnt seem to help me at all because I go to all of them, re-load saves, use bait, move around, sleep, etc. And still no Western Bull Moose. Sounds like a personal problem, got one this morning at lake Isabella again. Was in the afternoon if that helps.
Volt Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I was out exploring a new area of the map for me. I was in the ... Spoiler ... NE part of the map, by some train tracks with water underneath. I stumbled upon the Legendary Moose area. I was able to get it. And craft a trinket. And I think I was able to also upgrade my camp with its antlers. I'll have to check on that.

Legendary Antlers are used at the Fence for a trinket, don't think you can use them at camp, although i never tried. I did the trinket first, then went back and got another moose for the camp antlers.

Coincidently I was up in the same area last night doing a side mission and ran into a normal moose by the water and train tracks. Edited December 6, 2018 by Volt

Also i see cougar up there all the time at night. i was riding through there while i was playing last night, had 4 or 5 perfect boar hides, a few wolf hides, couple deer, and a the legendary fish from there i just caught. Of course i forgot to save after all that, and while riding down to the road from fishing at the falls the cougar jumped me. I said once before "Don't eat while riding your horse!" yeah i should have remembered that, fork in my mouth, controller on my leg, one hand holding the button to keep him going and push the stick to steer at the same time. Not a good outcome for Arthur, cougar won again.
