Where to find free gear in RDR2 Online

Rather than sift through every page here to see if there is a similar post, I made one. 
 

• General store clothing catalog has a free Grizzlies Outlaw outfit. (its a moderate temp outfit, so you will get hot in the desert and grasslands but it is nicer than wearing the free clothes that look like they were taken off a corpse)
• Fence in Thieves Landing has a free High Roller Revolver (the damage isn't as good as the Cattleman though a second gun is nice to have if your Cattleman has degraded into poor condition from never cleaning it and you're out of gun oil)
• Stables in Valentine (possibly any stables) has a free Red Chestnut Arabian. (unless you have a second stable for another horse you will have to sell your starter horse)

Feel free to add your finds of free gear and where to get them.

I was looking for that free Arabian, people have mentioned it, but it wasnt available to me. I had pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition, so it could be because it gave me a free thoroughbred instead, not sure. Although I had to buy another stall to keep from selling the free horse from the intro. The other freebies I got were also from Ultimate Edition/peeorder, varmint rifle, pump action shotgun and volcanic pistol, plus an outfit I dont remember the name of. I noticed that a few of the freebies are in the Special category, outfits certainly and arabian if you have it, not sure what else. My thoroughbred was under race horses and the weapons were normal, just said they cost 0.00

Just saw a video showing where I get my Arabian, looks like I came across another bug.  The Red Chestnut was not an option for me, just had the first two options for the Arabian that needed rank 70 and 66 to unlock it. Guess I have something else to report to R* when I get home.

Yeah, I also have the Ultimate edition.  Both horses, the Arabian and the Thoroughbred, should be available to you.  They are to me.  In the end though, I think the Thoroughbred is the better horse and the one I've chosen to ride.  I sold the starter horse to avoid the additional stable fee and the Arabian remains an available option until later.  Although, later I intend to focus on getting a Missouri Fox trotter (for Free Roam) and a Turkoman (for PvP challenges)  and will likely toss the thoroughbred.  I may keep the Arabian just for Race challenges but I haven't decided for sure.  I just hate how small and skittish they are.

Agreed, I feel the Missouri Fox Trotter and Turkoman are the two best horses in the game. Used primarily the Turkoman in story and absolutely loved it. Fast AND brawny. Guess I'll have to check again later for my Arabian, and like I said, open a ticket if it's still not there.

And ya, the starter horse was too small. I felt like I was one of those really tall people riding in a mini cooper

Haha, ya, was picturing a donkey after I made that last post.  Haven't ridden one yet, but I've seen them in story mode.  I'm sure I'll have one in my stables eventually, just cuz of how funny it would look.  Guess I should start thinking of a good name now.  Named my starter horse Nugget, and my all black Thoroughbred "Train Wreck".... and he truly owns up to that name.

I own the basic RDR2 version that came with a new PS4 I purchased about 2 weeks ago. I am not new to PS4 or RDR2 (I play PS4 often at a friend's house and every few days RDR2 when hanging out with him)

Turns out I don't have the Arabian cuz I'm on Xbox... 30 days early access for PS4.  I was beginning to lose my mind trying to figure out why it wasn't available for me.

I'm on PS4 with the Ultimate Edition:

- 2 Free Saddles at the Stable under Tack > Slot > Special:

- High Plains Cutting Saddle
- Alligator Ranch Cutter Saddle

I haven't been online due to having to go out of state for a week. But I just discovered the free saddles as well when sifting through all the available items at the stables. Just decided to check this thread and noticed it has been mentioned.
