NPCs have a unnecessary advantage.

So I have been helping others and doing lots of missions.  Several times have found my team and I have been in a wooded and all of a sudden, I can't see through the leave, meanwhile NPCs seem to shoot through obstacles.  WTF?

Problem is you can't see them to kill them back.  I have to move out of cover where they can shoot me as I start to move.  As where I have to clear the area to be able to see them at all.

With auto aim, it's simply a matter of lock on and when your pointer is red, fire!

I don't have a problem with the npcs definitely way better than gta where they survive full mags and can kill you with half a bullet.

Not with all obstacles.  One instance, everytime I aimed, I got leaves in my view.  No red dot, just leaves.  I kept having to move cause I could get a shot and they automatically had a hit even when I was behind a tree.

I've never had a problem and if I didn't like a position, I just moved to a better one.

 

Also change perspectives.  If you're  in 1st person, try 3rd and vice versa.

Then you got hit and killed with one shot to the head and you and your teammates would have to start over.  See to me it is a problem if with auto-aim that when I turn to shoot, all I get is leaves in my view.  No red dot and at that point I can't run either cause it becomes an instant death.  Then on top of it all, the auto-aim doesn't work, I get no red dot.  It's almost like that the leaves that block my view block the auto-aim, even though they are behind me while I'm in cover.  I have tried this in 1st person as well.

Headshots from NPCs are an extreme rarity. You need to learn how to maneuver around in a fire fight because 9 times out of 10 you won't have the luxary of staying in the same spot for the whole fight.

So I can't shoot them, because leaves block my shot and I can't move cause they was nailing me with headshots.  Apparently, you and I aren't playing the same game.  Soon as I was moving they would nail me dead with one shot and the leaves on the trees wouldn't allow auto-aim and because I couldn't see, I couldn't adjust.  Really don't think you are understanding the issue at play here.  They was hitting me while I was behind a tree, like the tree wasn't there for them to block their shots.
