Bountiful Achievement Question [Spoilers]

I just had a quick question about this achievement;

Can this be done when you play as John after the main game/story is complete?

I think so since it doesn't pertain to the story. I did this beforehand so I can't be 100% certain. I just know some trophies/achievements can be done after but some need to be done during.

It can only be done as John, because you can't access New Austin before then (without using a glitch)

Nope, since you're already wanted dead or alive in New Austin you don't have to be able to access it.

you can get to New Austin.  i've been there many times and i'm only in chapter 4 now.  However you can't get a bounty there because you're already wanted like @Lajnus said.
