Hazed0NE
A lot of people LOVED going through the stories of 3 main characters so I would not be shocked if they did it in RDR2 but... BUT... There were also many complaints. A lot of story-lines were missed/cut short. Some things didn't make sense if you accidentally did something out of order... I guess it is a general *I hope not* for some. Like peopling hoping that they fix the issues they had in the campaign of GTAV so something is missed or not having 3+ main story-lines going that all meet in together. Thoughts? MajorPain
I wouldn't mind 3 protags here and have actually been pretty shocked that so many people didn't like it in GTA V and would hate to see it in RDR2. Personally I thought GTA 5 kicked ass!
Skrylaxx
Most people I know haven't even thought of it. I mean the main pic shows 5 guys on horses right? So I am guessing we will have something to do with those 5 characters throughout the story.. playing as each one or not.
jACKx
I think there are actually 7 characters... *checks* Not sure how they would work playing as 7 different people. I don't mind playing as a few different characters but that would be too many.
Benjo
I like the 3 protags in GTA5, mainly because they all have different styles. If I want to go on a rampage I use Trevor, driving I use Franklyn etc. If they were to have changeable characters in RDR2, for me they would have to have very different personalities. Having different protags also helps break up the monotony of a long storyline, something R* often needs due to their standard "talk to this contact on your map, ride to this place, watch cut scene, ride here still taking, kill lots of people, leave the area" type of missions. Jamesie
I'd actually dig having a cowgirl and a cowboy to switch between. Another spin, have a "good" guy and a "bad" guy that you switch between. The game could then play as "first part as bad guy", next part as "good guy" then in the middle you play with them both and are sometimes forced to work with them in (maybe in some twisted ways too as you progress) and then end up having to make some decisions along the line and are eventually forced to pick who you really want to be at the end. Res
There have been some good responses to this topic. When we think of the great story line in RDR, and we think of as a player how we invested ourselves in the character of John Marston, it would seem a shame to have multiple protagonists. GTA V was fun to do the switch but it did interfere with the flow of the story a little. I think Rockstar will be doing multiple protagonists on this one but perhaps they will polish out some of the issues that GTA V had in terms of this.
