Dappled black thoroughbred horse in RDRO?

Good afternoon everybody,

My kids got me RDR for Christmas.  It was the 'deluxe edition', which included some free weapons, an outfit and a couple of horses.  One of the horses was the 'dappled black thoroughbred'.  I played exclusively solo campaign until last month, love the game.  The free horses were available to purchase for nothing at the Valentine stable, and always respawned there.  However, last month I discovered online (largely as our eldest got Xbox Live Gold for Fifa), and love it, am now level 43 and having a blast.  However:  does the dapple black thoroughbred exist in the online game at all, does anyone know?  I'm not looking to get my freebie download horse in there (although it would be lovely), I'm happy to pay ingame currency for him, but does anyone know whether the horse exists?  I have an affectionate attachment to him and my kids are asking where he is so would be great to get the same horse.

Some horses available in story mode are not included in online multiplayer. Hopefully they will be in future.

Dang, hadn't realised that.  Hope the dappled black turns up at some point, the kids even had a name for him, and I kind of miss the fella.  I'll feel bad getting a similar black horse and hoping they don't realise!

Not sure about XBox but PS4 had the Black Chestnut Thoroughbred as an Ultimate Edition bonus for online. I have been riding this horse from the beginning. I picked him up at the stable in Strawberry so you might check there to see if there are options for you. GREAT HORSE ... we have been through a LOT together!

That's a good tip, thank you, I never thought of trying other stables (I always seem to gravitate back to the one in Valentine, for some reason, perhaps the lack of gunsmiths in some places).  Thank you very much, I'll mosey on over to Strawberry tonight and take a look.

It doesn’t matter what stable you go to, they all have the same options. The horse you’re looking for is under Race category / Thoroughbred / Black Chestnut.

Thank you so much for the thought but sadly no, he isn't  The one I had has a dappled coat and some white markings on his face.  I'd insert a photo but can't make the site play ball.  Here's a link to him, although I know that isn't as satisfying as a simple picture.  I fear he's currently only a Story Mode horse, and within that only within the edition I got.  😞   https://www.gtabase.com/red-dead-redemption-2/horses/dappled-black-thoroughbred?i=RDR2_Horses_Thoroughbred_DappledBlackThoroughbred

Thank you.  I fear I'm at the point of simply waiting for the content to be added, as he seems to exist only in Story Mode.  A shame as he was easily my favourite horse in the Single Player, and my kids are asking where he is!  My regular ride in RDRO is a Palomino Dapple American Standardbred.  Fantastic horse, actually, love him, but it just isn't the same.  Chestnut is out the door if I ever get Jim back.  Sorry, Chestnut.
