I didn't notice the rail station board. Are they the same at each station? Something I will have to look at tonight.

Most definitely.  They said as much in a recent interview regarding expansion of roles and the introduction of new ones  .....also properties, etc.

But I believe the timeline for most of these expansions will be measured in years not months. RS have stated they will add new things slowly not rushed like they have with DLCs in GTA online. It seems their main focus for now are the frontier pursuit roles.
