Downgraded hides/pelts

Hi !

I have a huge problem when i hunt. When studied it´s a 3 * animal. But when i kill it (with a head shot) and i run to skin it, suddenly it only has 1 or 2 *.......Anyone know why or what to do ?

It will depend on the animals size & the type of weapon used

Medium to large u should be OK headshotting with a sniper rifle or similar

smaller animals not so much

It gives a full measure of any type of weapon to be used with any kind of animal. I think I shot a rabbit with a repeater....That´s why it was downgrated 🙂

Yes that'll do it alright

Always use a varmint Rifle on anything small

Yeah it´s a cruel and visious world we live in 😉

Makes sense though. Think about it, in R/L you shoot a rabbit with a 44-40 or larger, it's not going to be in the best of shape.  Conversely, outside of that seriously lucky SOB who killed a grizzly with a .22 a few years back, the rest of us are going to have a hard time using a varmint rifle on one.

I’m not sure 100% if ammo type makes a difference also... but as a general rule, I use my regular ammo for hunting and save the specialty ammo for fighting...

What? I always use my 45.-70 to blast Quail!
