Why does my character look WORSE outside of character creation!?

I don't remember this being an issue. I started playing the game again recently and made a new character and he honestly looks pretty good when I was making him but soon as I got online, it seems like he was downgraded or something. He went from looking like a chad to a meth addict lmao

Is this an issue for everyone? I can't figure out what the heck happened.

It is something people have complained about. I think it is the lighting and the compression it goes through. It is more noticeable if you are playing the game on a newer console. it was not as noticeable on PS4/Xbox One.

Yeah mine didn't look as bad when I played it on Xbox One but on my Series S he looks like a hot mess. 

I guess the scaling or whatever is off. Who knows.

I actually tried making mine look rundown and ugly and he ended up looking better after the fact, go figure. 

But yeah you are not the only one who has complained about this. I have seen plenty of memes on the topic lol
