Has anyone noticed the oil stains on the tracks just west of Flatneck station? They look like sound waves from a recording device that you can play. I don't know how to run this through a music player. I could be wrong but it looks like sound waves.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Not Launch — Social Club Service Never Installs (One Month of Troubleshooting) I’m posting this because I’ve been unable to launch Red Dead Redemption 2 for over a month, and after exhausting every possible troubleshooting step with Rockstar Support, the core issue remains unresolved. I want to document the problem clearly so other players can compare their experience, and so Rockstar can see the full scope of what’s happening. The Core Issue On my system, the Rockstar Social Club service never installs at all. Because the service is missing: The Rockstar Launcher cannot authenticate The game closes immediately after pressing “Play” The launcher cannot create its IPC pipe The Social Club folders remain empty The service does not appear in Windows services The installer never attempts to register the service I have never been able to launch the game even once. What’s Missing Across every reinstall and every test, the following remain completely absent: C:\ProgramData\Rockstar Games\Social Club → always empty C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Social Club\RGSCService.exe → missing Windows Services (services.msc) → no Social Club service registered My ipc.log repeatedly shows: Code failed to create pipe: 2 Unable to create pipe named "rgsc_launcher_0" in client mode. Error 2 = “The system cannot find the file specified.” This only happens when the service executable does not exist. Everything I Have Already Tried I have completed every Tier‑1 and Tier‑2 troubleshooting step, many of them multiple times: System & Windows Full Windows repair: DISM, SFC, chkdsk All Windows updates installed Tested in Safe Mode with Networking Created a new Windows user profile Launcher & Social Club Multiple clean reinstalls of the Rockstar Launcher Multiple clean reinstalls of Social Club Deleted all Social Club folders (ProgramData, Program Files, Documents) Deleted local Rockstar profile Ran everything as Administrator Verified game files (Steam / Epic / Rockstar Launcher) Network & Security Disabled Windows Defender Disabled Firewall Disabled all antivirus Disabled all background software Downloaded the launcher through a VPN from a different region Accounts & Storefronts Tested with two different Social Club accounts Tested across multiple storefronts (Steam, Epic, Rockstar Launcher) Hardware/Software Environment No overlays No overclocking tools No RGB/macro software No conflicting services No third‑party interference (confirmed by Safe Mode) What This Points To After a month of testing, the evidence points to one conclusion: The Social Club installer package I am receiving is missing the service component. This explains: Why the service never appears Why the folders remain empty Why the logs show IPC pipe failures Why Safe Mode doesn’t help Why different accounts/storefronts don’t help Why VPN downloads don’t help Why nothing changes across clean reinstall This appears to be a packaging or CDN distribution issue, not a system issue. Why I’m Posting This I’m posting this publicly because: I want to know if anyone else has experienced the same missing‑service issue I want to help Rockstar identify a potential installer defect I want to document the problem clearly for others who may run into it I’ve exhausted all scripted troubleshooting with Support and need this escalated properly If you’re a new player or someone who recently wiped Social Club completely, please check: Does your Social Club service install? Do you have RGSCService.exe? Is your ProgramData folder empty? Do you see the same IPC errors in ipc.log? Any confirmation from others would help a lot.

I found an unusual horse during play. Don't remember where. I think it was a mustang, but it was rough really rough scares, open bloody wounds. I wound up losing it when I called for another horse. It was a great horse brave, fast ... Would like to get it back. Anyone know about this horse, it's story, how to re-aquire it.

I have done so far 100% completion but not complete some trophies. ( Errand boy 60%, Skin and Deep 97%, Zoologist 63 ). I cannot go back in chapters because i don't have previous saves of the game. So the only way to complete Errand boy is new game as far i as know. If i start new game in rdr2, do i lose all my percentages so far or i have to do only 40% of Errand boy, 3% of Skin Deep and 37% of Zoologist ? When i start a new game, will i have still access to the saves of this game i am playing right now, right ?

this is Buzz again..... I see this is the first post since 2020 on the topic of picking up the gun and I am hopeful there is a solution. I am JUST starting gaming so there's a challenge for sure but I have a brain and can learn... just looking for someone who knows what's cooking. I have a new Steam Deck and have yet to receive the docking station or controllers but I do not believe they will change the performance issue. I can get in the barn in Mission One of the RDR2 series and after beating the crap out of another outlaw can not get the hand held Steam Deck to pick up the gun. LB doesn't react. I've tried using Proton Expiremental, Beta, reading everything I can get, reaching out to Steam, reaching our to RockStar... and do not have a solution 8 hours or so into the Battle to Begin. If there is a kind soul out there who can provide guidance, I am poised to be a supplicant (on line).Thanks for reading... Buzz

HELP I can't pick up the gun with LB on the first mission.... keeps me in the barn.... how do I get that gun?

i made it to tumbleweed and after the sheriff says to follow him into the jailhouse, he misses the stairs gets stuck walking into the wall, i tried to push him out of it but this resulted in him killing me and when i go into the jail there's no bounties. should i try leaving and coming back or will i have to load a save?

Newb here. I've recently started playing online. I played story to completion a few years ago, but never ventured online until now. I have many years experience on GTAO, so I'm no stranger to the concept of griefers. I know how to deal, but I'm just so freaking tired of it. 'durr-hurr I done shot an unarmed and non combative person in the head ... Durr-hurr. Doesn't it ever get old? How is there no report function in this game? GTA has it, not that I put any faith in it. Rockstar really aim for the lowest common denominator with their game mechanics.

I dont know who said that but honestly **** your missouri fox trotter .. i dont know why people are saying the dapple siver is beautiful but it litteraly look like a silver cow and its not THAT brave ... I dont even know why people say he is .... The best brave fast horses are obviously the Turkoman gold or dark bay but Buell is the best offline horse ... Its the bravest horse (only horse that isn't scare of fire), its beautiful, has a lot of health & stamina plus if you have beat the fancy lady twice in a race buell has 7 acceleration and 8 of speed. Look on internet to know how to get buell with arthur and still be able to get it with john. Online the best horse in my opinion is the Norfolk roadster from the moonshine role it cost 950$

My question is: what does redemption mean to you in general, and what does it mean when you play the game? Do you think Arthur earns redemption by the end of his journey, or do you disagree because of his past? What choices did you feel were right to make, and did those moments as Arthur make you think about making valuable choices yourself in the real world? Yeah, RDR1 did feel a bit darker to me. It had this lonely, end-of-the-old-west vibe that really stuck with you. RDR2 had more emotional depth and character moments, but RDR1’s tone was more raw and serious in a cool way. Both are amazing in their own style!

I’ve gone through RDR2 at least three times, and every playthrough feels fresh in its own way. The world is so rich I notice little details I missed before, side characters that grow on me more each time. Arthur Morgan’s journey hits differently every time I walk those trails again.

The only reason to jump to Silver Dollar is to ride it just outside camp, hitch it to a tree and kill it with dynamite so that you can get the Rolling Block rifle early, even though you get it in Chapter II anyway.

replaying the game for the second time, i just finished "The Spines of America" and decided to return to camp with hosea, after he got off his horse i was given the prompt to jump onto his horse and it just worked? i'm unsure if this works anywhere else but the game just let me do it first try. i note that i was kicked off of it a bit after when i tried to ride to valentine. i saved whilst i was still riding it but that did nothing, maybe there's a way to keep the horse after getting to the point of jumping but i'm not sure of many glitches that could help, it's up for grabs i suppose

Hedley baking co red box, Judging by the different rooms, I'm thinking that it's a cipher, a code or puzzle, so to speak. The house in rhodes has different rooms different doors to enter in and different objects to open in each room. I'm thinking or considering that You have to enter through a specific door and open the rooms and drawers in a certain order in order for the captain to open and to this date, no one has been able to decipher the mechanism to unlock the cabinet because they have not solved the coded puzzle of the Tin Boxes.
