Ive been working on this for sometime. Its it very near complete and I tried to be as accurate as possible. Just needed to get it posted before the holiday vacation. Current prices on all animal carcus, pelts and parts as of update 1.05 Please let me know if this is not showing up correctly. My original had links for every animal to the rockstar compendium and everything but its just too much for the upload I guess.1 point

Been checking on this myself coz after the last time with the regulators I just got really angry and quite verbal to say the least. Dice hoovered and diligence mentioned the ghosting and cheating it does get u mad especially when the regulators lik e many others are just wantin to play the game fair n honourable I hav almost been thinking of giving up online gamin it’s that bad. Coz I thought it was me n I had a problem. To be honest this believe it or not is the first time ever played online multiplayer n I was really enjoying it so in future I’ll just jump servers as advised by marshal hoovered and his deputy the six gun shooting dlknives. Yeah, no worries. A bit harsh on the criticism although I'll admit the thought of seeing a squirrel on meth might be the funniest thing I would ever see in my life.1 point

I'm old too. .....still think I have my C64 in one of my closets somewhere. Couple things though... RDO was never pay to win. There were some items like the insurance for some horses only being available for gold but that changed after the first week. The weapons and such were never locked behind the MTX system. When the store went live, I believe it was after that anyhow so it's really a moot point. It's not a rip off because there is no requirement to buy them. I provided a couple good examples of why they might release the gold bar system now and sure, it has to do with having the system in place ready to make money even at this early stage. Just because there is a lack of content at the moment doesn't mean squat IMO. It simply means less people may not be interested in purchasing MTXs so it only behooves the company to get more gameplay content out there to get more people playing and spark interest in buying Gold Bars. RDR2 is a GaaS model just like GTAVO. Personally, R* creates one of the better ones out there IMO because weapons and such are not locked behind paywalls. .....and R* made it point to reiterate that any items locked behind Gold Bars will be cosmetic only. Plus, players can still earn gold in game without buying it. Yeah it's a grind to do so, but it's at least possible. .....and then R* also throws in freebies from time to time just like they do in GTA. Like it or not, the MTX system is an integral part of the whole GaaS model and it makes sense (to me) why they would want to make sure it is in place and working now rather than later. ......but beyond all that, if someone doesn't like it, they simply don't have to buy into it. I guess I just don't see the dilemma here. More regular content and updates are coming after the holidays (if not sooner) as R* already stated.1 point

That is the reason I kill NPCs, I'm RPing being an outlaw, a killer. Fair enough. BUT - I don't grief PCs. Because that has real world consequences on real life people - their time, their emotions, their enjoyment. So if you want to be an outlaw, kill NPCs (or PCs in series matches). Unless you're a real life outlaw, I can't see how 'Because I'm an outlaw (in a game)' can be any justification for causing real life hurt or loss to real people, any more than me being an outlaw in RDO can justify bullying my neighbours kid. Do you have a further explanation? Because if you just want to roleplay being an outlaw you can do that very well killing NPCs without griefing people.1 point

I've had that too, it doesn't always appear as an option, but when it does it doesn't work. It's a problem that one big fish is the limit from a cash perspective. I once ran all the way from the swamp up to Rhodes carrying a big Catfish with one on the horse, Not worth it. The only good spot for big fish I've found is near the butcher in Blackwater because of the carry distance, but that carries a risk, obvs. If the breakdown worked I wouldn't have to throw so many back. Hopefully it's a bug they'll fix.1 point

Yeah I like this idea. I could decorate my camp with all the damn grizzly bears that have killed me.1 point

Red Dead Redemption was a ton of fun to play when it was released. Before RDR2 was released I watched Christopher Odd's "blind" playthrough on YouTube, just to get reacquainted. Having been spoiled by the complexity and immersion of GTA V for some years now, I was kinda underwhelmed, wondering how/why at the time I had loved it so much, although the dialogue/storyline/characters do hold up well, typical Rockstar fair. I pre-ordered RDR2, which was a first for me, as I knew that to have put 8 years in to this it would be special... then I held off installing it, because there was a big stink among a very vocal sector of the PS4 Pro community about blurry graphics and lack of HDR. Finally I could wait no longer, and well, what can I say? Never have I played a game that feels so much like being in a living world. SDR or HDR, the lighting effects are stunning, the graphics beautiful and detailed, the landscapes just seem...real. In terms of pacing, sure, if you want fast and frenetic you could still enjoy the game, by charging from one mission to the next...but let us not forget this is a Western... it's a study in to an emerging nation, the nature of man, and his impact upon and appreciation of the natural landscape and flora and fauna around him (for example the Appleseed Tree Co. and their impact on the local environs). The typical Western movie will cover topics such as morality, and the Rockstar examination of what is good, and what is bad, in objective terms, is so present in this game, as it was in the time and place where the game is set: often the lines between outlaw and lawman were blurred at best! It's also a consistent theme in westerns, especially those of Clint Eastwood, of the slow burn...the smoldering tension that leads to the bloody and climactic conclusion. If you simply blow through the missions, I'm sure you can have fun, but I play this as an Arthur Morgan sim - I'm living as Arthur while playing this game, even imposing my own RPG elements in to the gameplay which I could skip or ignore almost completely. I once hogtied a fella who was kidnapping a fine young lady. I proceeded to throw him, still hogtied, off a cliff. As his screaming body smashed in to the rocks below, ragdolling as he went, Arthur casually exclaimed "well, so long mister, it's sure been nice knowin ya". I cracked up with laughter and shock! How was this possible? I've spent hours hunting for tiny critters, not even doing story missions, simply searching the world and enjoying watching sunsets and sunrises over the landscapes. Some of the collectables are so hard to find, that when you finally see one, after all the other small gameplay elements you've experienced in your search, you really feel a YES moment, where you feel rewarded for your effort. I actually add my own elements of RPG to this game, so if it's raining I'll set up camp most of the time to get some shelter, and change Arthur's clothes. If I haven't been to a town for a while, I'll enjoy a soak in the bath and maybe check some new garments. Feasibly you could see food in the game as an unnecessary mechanic, but I choose to feed Arthur as if he was a living breathing person, so he'll always have breakfast, and a coffee when waking up... We see from cutscenes that Arthur smokes - so my Arthur smokes, after breakfast and sporadically during the day, which allows me to buy extra packs because he just loves to collect those dapper little cards from the premium packs! And when I find one I haven't got on my travels...it's great! I'll do story missions and then if it feels like Arthur needs his space, because of some drama in camp, or some recent traumatic experience, I'll head in to the wilderness and enjoy the landscape. There's a book that Dutch reads which basically says America is it's landscape, that's the heart of it, and this game (as with most Western movies) glories in the beauty and intricacy of the American geology, topography, flora and fauna. Playing in first person feels like you are exploring through Arthur's eyes, and the gunplay is meaty and challenging if you don't auto-spam Dead Eye (especially with FP free aim). Really my only very small criticism, if it can even be considered such, is I would love even more survival realism - I can't remember the name of it, but there was a Skyrim mod where you would have to take shelter and build fires to stay warm...this made mountainous and snowy areas a real challenge to explore, where sometimes you would even have to turn back as you clung to life! I have yet to complete the game, having just started Chapter 4, but honestly this is a treat, and it's actually got me reading books on the Wild West, watching a whole heap of Westerns which before I would never have bothered with, and even watching a horse riding competition today! Can I understand that some people don't enjoy the game: sure; but I feel sorry for those people, because as games go, this one, if you "get it", is a simply sublime experience. I love this game, and I do whatever I can to draw it out for as long as possible, because this is 8 years work from some of the best in the business, and as an avid gamer since childhood I know that games like this don't come around very often. Thank you for reading my essay of love to RDR2, rambling with passion cos' just like Arthur, I've been drinkin'.1 point

Thing is, I only get griefed every now and again. Most of the time everything is fine. Of course, I just recently got griefed - highly annoying. Minding my own business skinning an animal, get shot, lose everything on my horse - after a long time hunting. With nothing left to lose I try to chase the griefer down - he rides for ages before I catch up with him (clearly he doesn't want to fight??). Eventually, I get him. Boom headshot. Done? Nope. As soon as he spawns he shoots me. Oh, he wants to fight now. Ok, I shoot him. I'm pretty confident I can kill him more times than he'll kill me - but wait, the coward has left the server! So he shoots me in the back, runs off, and when it becomes a fair fight leaves the game! Good grief, what a diseased anus.1 point

I like how the lack of "realism" is brought up and then an argument for being able to "roll, snap and flick" to get headshots more easily.1 point

Joined a random posse last night and the leader was in the tailor in Blackwater so I decided to browse the catalogue too. Upon returning I got a notification that my horse had been killed, I checked the map and saw there was only one other person in Blackwater. I went over and killed them only to discover they were AFK, strange I thought but oh well. I then went to help the leader of my posse with a mission they had started when they decide to turn on friendly fire and shoot at me mid mission as I'm trying to help them! We got attacked by a rival posse mid mission so my small brained friend actually stopped and assisted me briefly. Slightly annoyed by my leaders actions I go to the shop to restore my ammo when bam same thing again; "your main horse is dead". Then the penny dropped, my own posse leader was the one who killed two of my horses. Words can not express the great vengeance and furious anger that I brought down on that fool, he even got a friend to assist him at one point and they both got owned over and over in a 2 vs 1. This is about the 4th incident like this I've had in as many days. Good job trolls never seem too bright, nor particularly competent at pvp.0 points

Yep: I was fishing on the River Bank in the middle of BFE and I knew there was a pink dot roaming around somewhere. I heard a shot and took cover drew a weapon and nothing. So I kept on fishing. I walk over in my horse is dead. These punks do crap like this and then they seem to jump off the server to a different roaming area server0 points

I was holding my own, but they all Parley'd me, and I couldn't help after that. There's actually a split second where you can get a shot in on a ghosting player.. It's how they're able to fire at you, but you're dead if you miss it.0 points

INVISIBLE WORMS. This afternoon I went bought worms and went to the riverbank. There were no worms for bait. I rode back to the post office and outside the post office ordered more worms. Walk inside and took delivery of 10 orders of worms. I got to a lake and again no worms in my bait wheel. I restarted the game several times, went roaming in different regions and on one last attempt sign in to buy worms and it said I was already carrying too many. That was this afternoon. Rockstar owes me worms or money lol0 points
