As @The_Liquor mentioned, the game won't play online if you don't. ....at least not in PS4 and I believe that would be the same for XB1. On PS4 you can also click options in the game tile to see if there is an update available. That was the case before IIRC. I recall always having to be stopped or traveling quite slow to change outfits for instance.

I had to look up some stuff. I think it is common these days with games. Maybe that is why they didn't feel the need to go into detail with everything? They probably figure people would just check it online if they are confused. lol

You Sir, are an absolute hero - I'd been fence sitting as it was close to the Pass expiring & had amassed 65 Gold bars & a few levels so was unsure if I would effectively "miss out" on rewards but after reading that they unlocked after activation I bought in & not only did I get vouchers that gave me the 40 Gold bars back but a lot of collectibles that gave me close to 6 full sets to turn in - with a few hours collecting yesterday to complete the 6 sets! Free Husky, 5 treasure maps, a ton of ammo & ingredients & a fistful of free fast travel amongst other thinks makes the whole purchase worthwhile, especially as the Gold bars came from general play [Bounties, Stranger missions & Daily Challenges] Oh & my Bounty Hunter outfit is now rocking Arthurs hat too! I had this issue and didn't know what it was for the longest time. I don't get why only certain missions don't allow you to pick anything. Like if you pass something useful, be it in a mission or not, it should let you grab it.

.....or get them to use the Feedback site as that is a direct line to them and what they use when considering changes, additions, etc. Obviously, discussing things folks want on social media, etc. is fine but IMO, this should be in addition to. Folks should be aware however that the Feedback site is a more of a suggestion box of sorts that R* reps monitor. They don't typically respond to inquires, etc. as that is not what it's for.

I used to play all my games on PS4, but I inherited an Xbox One last year and I how prefer the controller feels, so I've shifted over to that mostly now. Haven't really noticed a difference otherwise! I play on an old (2012?) Samsung LED 1080p TV. I used to have a Panasonic soundbar but it died, so I've hooked it up to a Logitech iPod dock thingy until I can replace it. Even my undemanding tastes couldn't handle the TV speakers.
