  1. If they could do that properly, make use of the honor system, I would totally be ok with that. The problem is trolls will always find a way to troll, not to mention the hackers. GTA had a problem with hackers dropping money on people in public lobbies and then banning the people who received the money. It took me a week to get back online because some tool dropped money near my character and r* flagged me.
  2. And you sir are a pariah. See YA in the private lobbies! Oh wait, no I won't , I only invite adults to my private lobbies. People that understand that although the cover of a book is what you see first, you are still supposed to read the inside wordy words too. And please, if YA are technically considered an adult, don't admit it.... just don't. Also, do YA even understand what you are typing?: "You’re probably the type to rage quit games that you can’t figure out or beat and resort to destroying your things." YA do realize that your style of gaming is literally spending time destroying others things because you can't figure the game out yourself. YA style is the equivalent of being a lowly purse snatcher because YA can't wrap YA little walnut around robbing banks. I know my above statements sound kinda stupid... It's probably my excessive use of "YA".
  3. That's always the fear with private lobbies. Griefers aren't going to play hours on private lobbies just to rank up... Griefers have very small mental capacities and don't understand the concept of actually playing a game to rank up. On GTA, we would play private lobbies until we needed to run missions. Then we would join a public lobby, get our dose of toolbag and some cash and then return to the private lobbies. They will be nerfed somewhat, but when you factor in the constant interruptions from griefers and loss of pelts, the money earned winds up being the same, just minus the toolbags.
  4. I thinks it's more because they are testing the servers than that they don't want us to have it.....
  5. Lmao.... probably... I know some stuff will be locked in the private lobbies, but I think the butchers will be unlocked. Hunting is the main reason most people want private lobbies, so unless R* wants a class action suit on their hands.....lol
  6. It appears all of our hopes and dreams may just come true....lol.. Seriously though, there is coding already in the game for private lobbies. Which means that one R* is done testing server health all they will need to do is turn on the option. I'm guessing this will be part of the "Anti-griefing update" that they said is coming in January. Oh I can hear the cries of the griefers now...
  7. Cover scent? I'd think the faint sound of applause would be more of a give away.
  8. @Poggy .... I'm pretty sure what @BropolloCreed79 is suggesting wouldn't require any other players or NPCs... most likely just need to buy some socks from the tailor..lol
  9. If this were possible I would do nothing but this..lol... You can hogtie people and throw them in the back of a stolen stage coach, then shoot the horse in the butt with the varmint...
  10. LOl, glad it's not just us doing stupid stuff to keep occupied: here's a few of ours: Piggy back races with a corpse on your back Hide and seek in governors mansion in Saint Denis and on the grounds of Braithwaite manor Take away - using a deer carcass on your horse Lassoing wolves and cougars Bungee jumping (well, sorta) using the lasso and a high bridge... This is kinda cool looking in 1st person. Tag and release with the lasso.
  11. I think alot of the NPC stuff is feasible and most likely in the works once they are done testing server health. The random events and people are what made the story mode so immersive, I'd love to see online be the same.
  12. Oh, ok... now it makes sense... Because if Cripps could turn poor pelts into perfect pelts I'd be out hunting with a Mauser and dynamite...lol
  13. All good suggestions. Question about one of them: "Trappers are added, and they and Cripps have the ability to craft perfect pelts". Cripps crafting perfect pelts. What did you mean by this? Like you could give him 5 poor pelts to make one perfect?
  14. So, since I had a few days off and played a bit of RDR2, I decided to try an experiment on griefing. To see if it wasn't as bad as I thought. Admittedly, I only did this because the rest of my posse were sleeping like normal people. I hunted small game and fished until I saw someone near a butcher. Then I would shoot a deer and head there to sell it. I did this 35 times. During this time I visited every butcher on the map, rode into town without guns drawn and changed sessions after each event. Of the 35 times; I was shot as I approached the butcher 8 times (like up the street), shot another 6 times when I dismounted my horse in front of the butcher and another 12 times just after I sold which to me means I got into the menu too quick for them. My horse was also killed like 5 times during this. I have to say that 9 peaceful transactions out of 35 aren't good enough odds for me to trust people dwelling right next to the butcher. Normally if I'm riding somewhere and I see people in my path, I alter it to avoid a possible confrontation. The way I hunt/sell now allows me to avoid most confrontations, but constantly having to go out of my way just to play a game is silly. This is manageable while traveling, but selling at the butcher doesn't give even us that option, unless we are willing to riding out of our way. I almost wish there was an option to have Kripps sell your pelts at 50% of the normal value.
  15. When I first started rdrO I did exactly what Cory is suggesting, giving people the benefit of the doubt , just riding into town and trying to sell. And without fail, half the time I'd get shot as I approached or lasso'd or whatever nonsense the small mind came up with. Until they add private lobbies (which, they will) we all have to assume anyone that idles near hot spots in the game is doing so for the purpose of killing you. Now, if someone is walking near me or riding through town with no weapons drawn, I'm good, I'll take that risk. But besides that, I have to assume you're up to no go. A smart griefer always tries to blend in so you're not expecting it.
  16. It does seem to go down alot slower compared to how fast it goes up. I was sitting on a roof in Saint denis for like 3 hours, mindlessly farming xp from npcs and my honor dropped 25%.
  17. Exactly right Kean. People that play like this are the easy marks that breed and encourage griefers. If you feel the need to stand around, at least do it in a store or somewhere away from people.
  18. Dude, just because you have the focus of a squirrel on meth doesn't mean I'm willing to take that into account when I'm trying to avoid griefers while farming. So do us all a favor and the next time you decide to wax poetic about the * badger pelt you just sold, do it away from the butcher.
  19. That's what I'm saying.... I DIDN"T lose the carcass. It let him sell it at a 1* but it still kept it in my inventory at 3***. We went there with 2 deer, but 3 got sold. That being said, I totally agree there needs to be private lobbies and a passive mode.
  20. The Dakota river just above diablo ridge is a good spot. The upside is it's right near Valentine to sell the fish. The downside, it is right near Valentine...lol
  21. I go to a sockeye salmon spot, use the special lake lure to get ten of those, then I drop a carcass in the water and wait like five minutes until there are a ton of fish near it. I drop in dynamite and wait for the damaged fish to float up. I usually get about 20 or more fish from that and not all of them go to one *, some stay ** and ***. I get 25 for the salmon and that 1 dollar stick of dynamite gets me 20-30 more. I do it this way because If I get killed I dont lose the fish.
  22. That'd be awesome for a business option.
  23. Totally.I constantly check the map when I'm hunting to see which shop I'm going to. If I see someone at a butcher for more than like 3 minutes I just snipe them on the guess that they are there waiting for someone to kill.
  24. Oh I agree with you totally, this has no place in a combined PVE/PVP lobby. I responded the way I did because you said it didn't belong in any pvp activities. It seems like the cards would help weaker players in PVP. Since all you have to do to get them is level up in free roam, you can save up cash and buy the one that makes you harder to kill.
  25. Yea, could be either way I guess... It's more of a deterrent to stop griefers from farming the butchers for cash
