  1. Would be nice as it's addition to GTAO has brought new life for that game for my friends and I. However, please remember that this is a fan site and not affiliated with Rockstar or Take Two. I only say that as your post seems like a direct request.
  2. I'm going off memory since I rarely play RDO these days but IME, the game will typically set you in a region where most players are in the session that you're joining. .....so with that, I usually choose a region that is far away from where I actually want to go and then ride to where that is. Keep in mind that whenever you enter an event or similar that removes you from the session, when you come back you could be in a new session deling with the same issue f being grouped close to others. Other things that help..... Ride with friends if that's an option. Safety in numbers as others will usually leave you alone if they know you're with a group. Not always but t least that mitigates the issue to an extent with those looking for easy prey. Also, make sure to turn on defensive mode, avoid populated towns, go the other way when you see others on the radar, etc., etc. Something to note is that the old "MTU trick" on PS4/5 will work for RDO but not s well as it did for GTAO. I don't know if XB has something similar but it's worth a little research. It essentially forces you into a solo session. .....well, actually, it just doesn't pair you up with others but it doesn't always work. It's a moot point in GTAO since they introduced the "friends / invite-only" modes. Hope some of that helps.
  3. This was posted on X this morning.....
  4. .....link is no longer valid and they are long gone it seems. In other news, GTA6 is being announced next month!
  5. There is a passive/ defensive mode that you can choose that will help mitigate "griefing" by other players and provide options / outcomes in the event you are killed. To make a long story short though, if you you really want to avoid all risks, it's is best to avoid other players.....period. - Don't choose missions / tasks that will automatically change your mode from defensive to offensive. - When you first spawn into the map, the game tends to put you in regions with other players (IME). Pick a part of the map away from where you really want to be and then travel there by horse. IME, that usually helps limit the interactions you will have with others. - Stay out of towns where other players are and if you have to go in, make your visit brief and give others a wide berth. - If you can, play with friends in a posse. The old saying regarding "safety in numbers" applies here too. When you have several folks to ride with, other don't tend to mess with you as much IMO / IME but if they do, sometimes you can turn the tables on them and they will quit. ....o just ride out to another part of the map. - Don't engage griefers unless you're will to pay the price of escalating the encounter.....repeatedly. If you use the defensive feature and advantages it gives you while just accepting your death. etc. by just escaping and moving on, there is little satisfaction for the offender. Remember....their sole purpose most times is to get a rise out of you by provoking a response. As far as GTAV, there is no single player option like the one recently added where you can get play all of the missions, run all businesses, etc. with just you and/or friends. However, the "MTU exploit" does work like it did for GTAV but just not as well. .....at least the last time I tried it about a year or to ago. It helps force you into your own session but it's inconsistent. .....and any missions that lead to you leaving the session can dump you back into a populated server once done, etc. You can also be kicked out of the session from time to time. Not really worth it IMO.
  6. Oh boy. You may as well be talking in Latin. Hahaha... I spent 30 years at large PC manufacturer before I retired (early) so it's not as if I don't know my around one but I've been out of the game for a while now. Not at all familiar with the latest components or even some of the tech advancements these days. I really got into building my own PCs starting a bit in the early 80s and then full bore in the 90s up until a little after the PS3 came out. I used to keep up on all that stuff back then (you really had to with the frequent changes). ....but with the PS3, I lost my interest in PCs as a hobby.....just work. Yeah, the tech Q&A is going to be different but the game itself is essentially the same across all platforms. I think I might have nailed down the cause of the website issue or at least the work-around in my case. I changed some settings in Chrome so let's see if that changes anything for my login problems. So far it's been hit or miss. .....or actually more miss than hit. lol
  7. Hey LordP, I'm in my mid 50's myself but been gaming since I was a kid. .....my first console was a Bally Arcade in the late 70's (?). ....Breakout, Pong, etc. I just started to get back into the game myself in recent weeks for lack of any other titles my PS5 friends and I are interested in (same age). I'll try to help where I can but I'll say it right now that I haven't played the campaign in years so I can't really assist much in that regard. Also, I've been having issues with the site that can't be resolved so it's hard for me to even log in to reply most times. Sorry, hopefully others will swing by and help out but I will too if I can. Regards, Kean
  8. Hi @Sharkstein, For your own benefit, you should translate your posts into English as that is the language this site and it's members use. I went ahead and did that for your first post but moving forward, just use Google Translate or similar. Thanks. Obrigado.
  9. ....translated to English to help others help you.
  10. I dunno..... I still frequent some forums I have for years and they are still quite active. I also think it's sad but not for sentimental reasons. Discord IMO / IME simply can't replace the way I interact with forums. I have zero interest in getting involved with live "chats" or skimming through them to catch up. The UI and layout is also confusing and crude to me. IMO/IME, forums are still the best place to share ideas, create discussions on specific topics, gather feedback, etc. I understand Discord has introduced some feature to help create a forum-like format but again, I just don't see the advantage beyond the ability as a meeting place / chat room. I am a member of Discord btw and due use it in a limited fashion. Currently more as a DM platform to interact with old Ubisoft personalities as Ubi has abandoned their forums.
  11. I never removed RDR2 from my PS4 and copied it onto my PS5 when I got one. However, I haven't played in a long, long time. I was holding out hope for a next-gen version or enhanced update so I could do another run-through. ....or maybe an Undead Nightmare 2 but then the announcement was made that further development / large updates were not going to be in the future so all hope at that point was lost. My friends and I are currently anticipating the release of Six Days in Fallujah. That will be the next title we will be likely spending a lot of time playing.
  12. Unfortunately, that's not the case as I stopped playing the campaign nearly 5 years ago when Red Dead Online came out. .....and the last time I dabbled in RDO was about a year or two ago. Sorry @mike1956ny. Your best bet (unless someone who knows chimes in) will be to do a search online and see if you can find the answer. You can also do a search in these forums to see if anyone had the same problem and if they found a solution.
  13. At this point, I wouldn't leap to the conclusion that the system needs to be replaced. There are several other things I would (personally) try before giving up. Are you at or near capacity on the internal HDD? I'm assuming your installing RDR2 on the internal drive and not an external SSD, etc.? Is RDR2 the only game this happens to? Have you recently tried to install and successfully play other games? I see you've tried to rebuild the database but perhaps it's time to try and do a full wipe / re-install? If you do have a compatible external SSD, you might want to try using that and see how it goes. In fact, this is a great way to expand your storage and increase the performance on these aging consoles (depending on the SSD). I bought a Samsung T5 external SSD that I used for my PS4 and then (now) my PS5 for PS4 games. .....all my PS5 titles I install on the internal SSD. Anyhow, my point is that there are other things you can try.
  14. It's been a really long time but from what I remember, the only boxes that were accessible (if they even were) on carts/wagons were typically on the back. I could be wrong as I haven't played for years.
  15. IMO / IME, online games are just as different as single player ones. Whether you like RDO specifically will depend on what you're looking for from the experience, etc. There are online games I like and ones I don't. ....or even game modes. I tend to lean toward co-op and PvE but there are PvP games I enjoy as well. ....or blends of these aspects. Of course, there are also those I don't find fun at all. Public sessions in GTAO are one of those I personally can't stand. RDO on the other hand I found more fun and the random player interaction more tolerable. Also, remember that just because a game has an online mode doesn't mean you can't play in a private server, only with friends etc. I still play GTAO for instance but only in private sessions with buddies or alone.
  16. Yeah, it matters that you're on PC as cheating, hacking, etc. is typically more prevalent. That's not to say trolling doesn't exist on console but you're not likely to encounter the same issues folks have with PC games in this respect. I can't speak for PC but on console, RDO is way less toxic than a game like GTAVO IME / IMO.
  17. What "Indian Group" do you mean? You'll need to respond directly to a member who is recruiting or start your own group.
  18. ....moving this to the Recruitment forum.
  19. There's really no way to know all of their reasons. Much of it could be based on player population and other statistics we just don't have a complete view of. It simply may not have been worth the time and resources in their eyes to pursue those goals with RDO. By the time GTA6 arrives and depending on how well that does out of the gate, etc., I'll wager any focus on the RDR IP will be the next iteration vs. a revisit of RDR2. ....so the best I think RDO players can hope for are the QOL improvements, modest updates, etc. Look at GTAV.... We just recently acquired the ability to play solo or invite-only while accessing most businesses that previously could only be accessed through a public session. .....or solo but using the MTU exploit that tricked the game into forcing you into your own server. Those are the type of QOL improvements I'm hoping RDO can look forward to. I haven't played RDO for quite a very long time but maybe that would change.
  20. @Iron Jacket Back in July of this year they said they would not be releasing any more "major themed content updates like in previous years". However, they will continue to support the game and will release seasonal updates building on existing modes, etc. as well as QOL improvements. So, while we won't likely see properties we can buy or other major new additions / content to the game, it will continue to be updated and supported. Not what fans wanted to see and certainly not me but their focus is on GTA6 right now and into the foreseeable future. I know many of us felt RDO never reached is fullest potential and could have really been much more successful than it already was if they had nurtured it more. As it is, the game has felt pretty dead / stagnant for a long while now. .....at least to me which is a shame.
  21. Welcome
  22. @Parzival Looks like he was a spammer. There was a hidden link he embedded in the quote (that wasn't in the original post) regarding the sale of yoga pants directing you to a website.
  23. ...what's scary about it?
  24. Hi and welcome!
  25. I would say their next focus could just as likely be the next iteration of RDR. IIRC, RDR2 released in 2020, GTAV released in 2013 and RDR2 released in 2018. Now, there very well could be some next gen release of RDR2, etc., etc. but the next new game from either of these two may just be another RDR I'll wager. Really depends on a number of factors but I guess we'll see.
