Gotta say, it isn’t for me, at least in this setting. Good idea, just the wrong era.

I know your intent. I was just making a goofy statement to kind of highlight the difference, since there does seem to be a portion of the population that can’t separate griefing from legitimate activity.
-
Well, if this was the way things were, people doing wagon deliveries wouldn’t have to interrupt your fishing... unfortunately, it’s like the Wild West out there...

Who else would move your camp clear across the five states for a dollar?

@Seikyo Bushi here is an article you might like... and In my opinion, the better option to paying someone to butcher a piece of history.. http://lagniappeslair.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-make-your-own-77-jap-rifle-ammo.html?m=1 @Seikyo Bushiopps, forgot to past the link

I seem to recall coming across something like that with Arthur in single player... the dunk guy asked if you could watch his stuff while he went to town for help... when you get bored and loot his stuff you find him passed out a little ways down the road... -

Personally, I try to take it back intact... But I do see the logic behind blowing it up and trying to salvage a bag or so if you’re outgunned. -
Now your making him sound like some kind of mobster...’I’ll help get this business of yours going, for a price to be negotiated at some point in the future... You’ve got nothing to worry about’.

I would have loved to see that kind of action... Sit back, snipe a guy or two from each side, get them into a big battle, the. Sneak off with my wagon lol -
Me either... Nothing personal. But if I’m bored I’ll most definitely do my best to get my hands on your wagon... I expect the same from anyone I happen to shoot while passing through (kind of why I shot them in the first place)...

Honestly, in a completely non-feminist way, I assumed @Harlock1796 was a man due to taste in firearms from another conversation...

I liked the old Hoots... Sergio was kind of fun... But the guy you had to bring in from the swamp while on hallucinogens was a favourite for me for some reason... Just different I suppose...

Maybe a bit of a thief and bandit, but I wouldn’t quite go as far as saying he’s a turd... You won’t have a very successful career as a wagon thief if you don’t know a few good spots to wait for them to roll on by... -
The Collector role definitely sounds like what you are looking for... but don’t read these boards and come away thinking it’s all a big war zone out there. I’m rarely harassed doing my trader missions, even doing long deliveries solo. I’d say so far 4 out of 5 runs I don’t even see another player, and on the ones I do, they mostly show very little interest in trying to take my wagon... However, it gets to be quite fun the rare time you have to fight off bandits while trying to race your wagon to the finish line in time...

I try to be creative. Just never went after a career in it... Now I’m to old, broken and saddled down with kids to jump into the video game industry...

Was she possie leader? Maybe only the leader sees them out and can make the decision wether or not to sick the possie on them? I’m not 100% certian, but I Think that’s how it works with some of the other icons... -
Just to expand on my evil bounty hunter role, maybe bonus points/daily challenges that revolve around creative kills (tied to o train tracks, hunt from a bridge etc.). Special equipment: Noose (provides the ability to string up your tied up opponents and hang them from various objects such as tree limbs, rafters, bridges...). Special ability... Use your opponent’s horse as a platform for your bound foe...
-
Well, your initial post kind of reads like an angry rant...
-
Yeah, honestly it’s not a big enough deal to worry about... I spent a day trying to find a trader wagon to jack once... I didn’t have much luck. I also make the long deliveries solo, hoping to run into some trouble to bring a little excitement to the monotony. I got blown up once as mentioned. I’ve only ever had to pass another player once, preemptively shot him and never saw him again. I got shot by a passing wagon party once a while ago. Once I realized what was going on, I just went on with my day... I rarely find true trouble in this game. I don’t go picking fights without a reason, but I’m not shy about getting into a tussle when the situation warrants it. And I don’t tend to get all that upset if I’m just in the wrong place at the wrong time and eat a little digital lead.
-
How about a sort of reverse bounty hunter role? I’m sure gangs out there would gladly pay to have cerTian Johnny Law types taken out... perhaps even extending it to taking our rival players on the good side of the spectrum at some point? I guess it would basically be an expansion to the ‘hitman’ type Of stranger missions, only fleshed our into an actual role...

I completely get where you are coming from here. In real life I strive for the quickest and most humane harvest I can manage with the tools and regulations at my disposal... But in real life I also don’t go around indiscriminately killing every animal I see so I can keep the old guy at the camp stocked up on supplies and have plenty left for the stew pot, a stockpile of cooked meat for the road and a few stacks of meat to sell to the butcher for Liquor money....
-
Well, to answer your first question, I personally run solo Most of the time , so I wouldn’t know. I do my best to avoid others when possible. To answer your second question, I seen it once... now everybody I absolutely must pass gets shot....

My wife doesn’t really want to hunt. But she sure does appreciate me filling up the freezer with all sorts of steaks, sausage, ground meats and birds for roasting and frying from my hunting efforts... She absolutely loves fishing though... As for animals bleeding out, I kind of preferred the white dots being there. I tend to shot multiple animals in one go online. The dying ones seem to have more de-spawn resistance than the dead ones. So I’ll shoot five deer/antipope/whatever then skin the dead ones first while the others moan and die...
-
Yes, I really do see it from both sides of the fence myself. On the one hand, it’s really annoying to be shot when your minding your own business (fishing, hunting, whatever you happen to be doing). On the other hand, it’s really annoying to give someone the benefit of the doubt only the be shot dead when your guard is down and have to fight to reclaim your wagon... Since it’s easier to keep your wagon in the first place than to try and chase it down and reclaim it un damaged... And no, there is no moral high ground to the shoot first apologize later route. But then again, there’s no real reason to be all that upset over the 10 seconds it takes to respawn unless you really want to dish out some revenge. It’s not like you can’t just shrug and go on with your life. Maybe they made the choice to shoot first, but you make the choice of wether or not to make it into a big deal. PS: as for the ‘self imposed timer’ thing... you do realize deliveries are literally on a timer, right?
