Well, defensive mode isn’t supposed to be invincible mode. You still have to watch your back out there.

No, the best part is being the weird old drunk guy that uses a donkey to do absolutely everything... but yeah, I do look forward to having all that stuff down the road...

So who here is getting the PC version of the game?
The_Liquor replied to KVNknowsbest's topic in Red Dead Online
Not me. I can hardly keep up with console gaming, never mind keeping a PC up to snuff for gaming. For me, PC is pretty much only there for doing photos and work. I’ll keep my PS4 for games probably well into the the PS5s lifespan. (Or at least until they release a GTA or RDR that I just have to buy a new console to play). -
Sure, but it’s not in your stable. It’s not yours to come loping over with a big ‘HEE-YAA’ when you whistle. you can’t just summon it back after someone kills it out from under you... I would give Red Liquor a rest if I could buy Jackass Drunk...

I was once galloping through saint Denis... I rounded the corner and crashed head on into another player galloping the other direction. We both went down hard and we both died... Beyond that, I’ve never had a horse crashing contest to test it... Red Liquor does like to randomly slam me into trees, or crash into fences instead of jumping over them though...
-
I’ve been riding my free red chestnut (Red Liquor) since day one. He gets the job done and rarely give me trouble... I just never saw the need to spend massive amounts of money on upgrading horses.

I am on PlayStation. It very well may have been me I suppose. I like doing goofy random yet completely harmless things when I find other players around. It also tends to get me shot at a lot, but that’s half the fun. Sometimes I go into towns, climb the highest rooftop I can where everyone can see, and dance the prospector’s jig. Almost without fail, everybody who passes by pulls out their rifle and aims at me while they try and decide wether I’m just a drunken idiot, or the set up for some elaborate trap lol.

Well, to be fair, if I’m feeling like stealing your wagon, all I know is an rival trader is making a delivery’. I don’t know Pluck is only level 3 or 5or whatever, or that he’s having a bad day for whatever reason. I just see an opportunity and make a quick decision... is it worth the risk? Am I in the middle of something else? Do I have time? After all, we all have our plans. We just need more money.
-
Personally, this is the type of purpose I’ve been craving since launch. Want my wagon? Come and try to take it. Want to keep your wagon? Try and stop me from stealing it... I hated the random senseless psycho killer thing going on. I see much less of this now and much more purposeful conflict. I’m happy with these changes and look forward to even more.

You fed him uncooked meat? Way to start the Zombie Apocalypse...

I think buying collector maps is a bad investment
The_Liquor replied to parkenman's topic in Red Dead Online
One day, some NPC rode by and gave me lip. So I tied him up with my reinforced lasso and looted him... he had a tarot card on him... If I was an **** completionist, I’d probably buy the maps. Since I’m happy enough wandering around and finding what I find I likely won’t bother... really? The proper term for our backside equipment is censored? -
You won’t find rockstar here... just a bunch of people who like playing red dead

I think they were referring to the rules most forums have these days not allowing ‘guests’ without a verified account post... Not that they feel like they’re not allowed to post an opinion on a forum.. I might be wrong

Well, no. There wasn’t radar in the 1800s. But people did have smell, sight, hearing, touch, Peripheral vision... all that gets taken away looking at a tv screen. That is why games need to add things like radars and eagle vision... don’t get me wrong, I completely get your point. It really isn’t in the flavour of a game set in the time period (or even our modern time period. In my 16 year army career I’ve never come across a piece of equipment that not only showed me a map, but the exact location of everyone around with hostile or friendly identifies). But as for realism, it’s just not going to happen in a video game with our current technology... That’s why I buy old cowboy guns and replicas of old cowboy guns and hit the range for some cowboy action shooting when I can (and even that isn’t quite there, but it’s fun). Or head out to hunt and run trap lines. And fish.

Well, this isn’t a LeMat, but the principal is similar (only it’s a six shooter without a little front stuffer shotgun). You can see the cutout in the side that allows you to drop in your powder charge, wad, ball etc... the. As you rotate the cylinder there is a lever built in that allows you to pack it all down. Then just add primer caps to the back nipples.... sorry, not sure why the pictures are blurry
-
Actually no, I like my radar. As mentioned I a previous post, it’s what helps compensate for the fact that you are controlling a 2 dimensional screen (no matter how beautifully crafted to give you a 3D impression).
-
I know you can in single player... never tried in online... but that would just be crippling yourself while everyone else enjoys the benefits of the radar....
-
Maybe if I’m feeling ambitious later I’ll post a few pictures of my cap and ball to show the built in loading press.
-
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hate a radar quite as much as you lol
-
Yes, cap an ball revolvers are quite the thing to reload... though I can have my six shot loaded up in maybe a little over a minute if I was on the clock. Though the real way to do a fast reload is to carry an extra cylinder reloaded ahead of time and swap them out. yes, chain fire is a potential problem in these arms as well, though it is (mostly) preventable with good maintenance and proper reloading. But your point is valid. The lemat was never a popular gun and the game makes it way overpowered... though still in the flavour of the game in an arcadey kind of way.... you should look up the volcanic while your at it. Another gun the game blew way out of proportion.

Fronteir Pursuits Poll II (What's your favorite one?)
The_Liquor replied to Senator Goob's topic in Red Dead Online
I love doing the bounty hunter more... the trader is in line with what I have been doing for cash anyhow, so I think it’s getting more actual play time... collector is just there in the background for when I find stuff, though I see myself dedicating more time to it down the road. -
Honestly, since the beginning, I’ve experienced disconnectedness at such a low level I haven’t even found it worthy of submitting a ticket (with the exception of a very brief period immediately following the previous update). I can get why people would be upset about constantly being disconnected. But it just hasn’t been an issue on my game.
