  1. I've had this happen to me as well. with deer - they just stand there and I shoot but they don't react at all. I was rather annoyed - I hadn't seen any animals in the game in DAYS, and then I finally see a deer and this happens. Ugh...
  2. Yeah, I've had this happen as well. I just ignore it now or, if I happen to be close to a stable, I just go there and saddle up another horse and then switch back to the one I came in with. After that, the pelt is always gone.
  3. I never make a sale in a session that has more than 5 players either. I just keep switching them until I either end up in one on my own or with maybe three or four other players. And I also make sure to play at a time when there aren't many other people playing. Anything else... nah, thanks indeed! The game has WAY too many griefers. If I couldn't play in Invite Only sessions I'd have stopped playing a long, long time ago.
  4. Yeah, I still play it. Always in Invite Only lobbies (unless I have to make a Nightclub sale). I have basically everything but I still enjoy it. I just love Los Santos (especially at night, it's so pretty) and driving around is my favorite thing to do, which is why "Sightseer" is my favorite mission. I also love the Casino Penthouse, although I still get lost in mine. lol I also did a re-play of the single player version recently and I enjoyed it a lot all over again. It's such a well-made game and it still holds up.
  5. I'm really enjoying the snow, I wish they'd bring it back for a limited time in January and February. The one thing I DON'T enjoy is that herbs are incredibly difficult to spot in the snow in Eagle Eye.
  6. ^ Same. I've completed the Moonshiner role and I haven't been to my shack even once ever since. I'm not going to bother - selling 10-15 collector items to Madam Nazar gives me as much (if not even more, depending on what kinds of items they are) money as a really good Moonshine sale and it's just not worth it. AND I don't have to pay anything to prepare things. Same goes for Trader - I'm not gonna bother looking for non-existing animals for hours and hours and I'm not gonna bother trying to set up a camp over and over again. And I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way. R* really needs to do something or they're gonna lose even more players than they already have lost over the issues that have plagued the game ever since the beta went live.
  7. I might also be inclined to finally buy an outfit for Cripps now that he has apparently kinda stopped hating on our camp dog...
  8. I was able to play about ten Moonshine selling missions in a row yesterday (and I have REALLY been plagued by the black loading screen issue), so I thought I'd post what I did. I also investigated a little, so... here's what I found. First I had the shack near Emerald Station. That was a COMPLETE disaster, I could play exactly ONE selling mission and that was it. The rest was black loading screen after black loading screen. It's an incredibly busy area and an incredibly busy shack. There are players all over the place. So, I moved the shack down to the Bayou. (Not as busy but still fairly crowded sometimes.) I could do a few selling missions here and there before the game would decide to not let me anymore. I tried two things: Leave the shack and do other stuff while Moonshine is being prepared AND waiting inside for the Moonshine to be prepared. Both had the same results: Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. At one point it even reset everything while I was standing right there next to Marcel. What I noticed when it DIDN'T work, however, was that this occured whenever there were other players around, either outside the shack or just about to go inside (when it reset everything I went outside right away and saw that there were several players outside the shack, so, there definitely seems to be a connection here). Things then REALLY started to go south when someone apparently played a free roam mission near the shack (I don't know the exact details, I play in Defensive Mode and the game only tells you to switch to Offensive Mode to see nearby missions). THAT one made everyone inside my shack disappear and I couldn't get them to re-appear (going out and then back in usually fixed this issue for me although it would sometimes also reset my Moonshine progress so that Marcel had to start all over again), no matter what I tried to do. It really seems to be an issue of players interfering with each other in some way, something like R* servers not being able to handle all the players moving around in the same but also separate shacks, but also something else (will get to that). At one point the game even randomly threw me into a Bootlegger mission (lolwat???) although I had not started one, I was just standing next to Marcel, nowhere near the lady upstairs. I then moved my shack to the one location where I was sure things would be absolutely empty and barren - New Austin. And... io and behold... it worked. There were no players around and I could suddenly do selling missions and never even ONCE did everyone inside the shack disappear. HOWEVER, and here's the HOWEVER... this ONLY worked continuously with 30/24 minute Moonshine with Evergreen flavor sold to that Bret guy who offers the lowest payout. It did NOT work for more expensive Moonshine OR for buyers who offer more money than Bret. But it worked, and since I was only after the XP and not the money anyway (I prefer to make money through the Collector role), I was able to max out my Moonshiner level. It was a bit of a grind, but it did what it was supposed to do. I thought I'd post this. Maybe this will help others who are in a similar situation and have a lot of money already and are thus only after the XP and want to max out the role and then forget it's even there. The shack in New Austin is not the best, I know, and there's a delivery mission to Fort Mercer that will REALLY get on your nerves and lose you a bottle or more if you're not SUPER careful, but hey. It WAS nice to finally be able to actually play the game as it was intended. Well, some of it, anyway.
  9. I experienced a weird thing today and yesterday - I moved my Moonshine shack to New Austin because reasons and there were quite a few animals there. Not as many as in story mode, of course, but still quite a few (by New Austin standards). I then rode to Blackwater, and right when I went past Armadillo, the animal spawns STOPPED. It was like as if someone had flipped a switch. I went back to Armadillo and into the general direction of Tumbleweed and the animals started to spawn again. This happened yesterday AND today, so it couldn't have been a temporary little glitch. (I also checked how many people were in the session, the number hadn't changed.)
  10. Ooooh I'm really interested in seeing the snow.
  11. No animals whatsoever for me either ever since the Moonshiner update. Frustrating. So... frustrating.
  12. Today was the first day since Friday on which I could actually complete another Moonshine delivery. Ever since Saturday the game gave me nothing but a black loading screen whenever I tried to start a delivery mission or a bootlegger mission. My joy didn't last very long, however - I made a second batch of moonshine but when I returned to my shack a little while later nothing was done and I couldn't even make new moonshine because the option to do so was grayed out. And there's nothing else to do. There are no animals whatsoever except maybe one or two birds, the collectibles are not where they're supposed to be (and there isn't even a TV to sit down in front of to pass the time it takes for Moonshine to be ready without getting kicked, lol)... I'm really trying to be patient here but the lack of communication from R* is making this more and more frustrating. This latest update completely broke... well... everything?
  13. I wouldn't have abandoned the trader role if it hadn't been for the animal spawn and camp issue - I simply got tired of waiting for half an hour to find one bird flying around AND to then spend another half hour trying to set up my camp. So I resorted to doing the daily challenges and my collector rounds every day. And now that the Moonshiner update missions aren't working anymore either (and neither do trader selling missions), I am really interested in finding out where the new collectible locations are. It's literally the only role that's working. (I know, Bounty Hunter exists also, and it is nice and whatnot but it's a lot of hassle and it doesn't pay nearly enough, and I've max'd it out so there's no reason for me to go back to that one.)
  14. Yeah, this is a major bug for a lot of people at the moment (including myself, nothing works for me except Moonshiner story missions). Some folks have suggested clearing your cache might work (it didn't for me). I won't be doing another selling mission before this gets fixed because you do lose all your moonshine and progress. Very frustrating.
  15. Yeah I saw the patch note, but as you said, it doesn't offer a lot of details. I never used any of the maps either I just rode around with my metal detector and eagle eye and learned over time where some of the collectibles are on what day and I enjoyed making a daily round to get them and make a few hundred dollars. I don't mind if they give them new locations now, but it it's true that they've made them change every hour... it just seems somewhat excessive to me. (What can I say, I like routine.)
