Howdy Cowfolk
So I got back to thinking now about some of my favourite moments in Red Dead Redemption and one of them was playing Liar's Dice. We often play it with friends and family that come to visit and it's just a wonderful thing to see how different people place it. This made me think that it might possibly make for a good forum game (although probably slower than most) where we could get a group of 2 to 5 people going that play game over a few days (as we're in different time zones and such).
However before we start such a game I think this post is more to try and get a feeler for the interest in a game like this - obviously it helps to know how to play it (not quite sure I know and apply all of the rules as they were meant to be played with from Red Dead Redemption but I'm very open to learning the proper rules).
Take a look if you haven't before and then share your thoughts?

There are of course a few more clips to view out there but I figured it would work something like this:
For new games: Wait a day at most for anyone interested (at least two players with "dealer" up to a max of five or so players). Have a mod or chosen forum member that isn't going to participate generate random dice rolls for each player (this would be the "dealer"). This person would send the roles of the dice per player only to the appropriate player. This way there is someone making sure no one else cheats and they'll know the roles of every player.
Example:
Player A, B and C take part with Player X being the "dealer" which we will name D.
D generates the following roles for each player (so five dice per player to start with) and also decides on the order in which the players will play the game (for simplicity lets say Player A, then Player B followed by Player C):
- Player A: 3 x 1, 1 x 6, 1 x 4 (only known to D and Player A)
- Player B: 1 x 1, 1 x 2, 2 x 4, 1 x 6 (only known to D and Player B)
- Player C: 2 x 1, 1 x 3, 1 x 4, 1 x 5 (only known to D and Player C)
Player A plays first and might call "two ones". D doesn't have to do anything at this point, only player B can perform an action:
- Call "Spot on" meaning that Player B thinks there are exactly two ones in total. Requires D to check and announce the result of the hand.
- Call "Bull Shit!" meaning that Player B thinks there is no way that two ones are on the table. Requires D to check and announce the result of the hand.
- Call a higher bid such as "two twos". D doesn't have to do anything at this point, only player C can perform an action which then will play out in a similar fashion to this round.
I can elaborate more if required and flesh out a full example but I just wanted to know if anyone would be keen on something like this? It might take a day or so before one of the players plays their hand (perhaps we could introduce an "auto pass" rule if an expected player hasn't played their hand) but I still think it would be fun and maybe after a round or two others would also want to take part?
