Name one game you would most like Red Dead Online to be modelled off
Jamesie replied to SNIP3XL's topic in Red Dead Online
For me it's just about focusing on the single-player experience primarily and leaving the online on the burner plates for those that are interested. Sadly I fear we'll get "Buffalo" cards or some other similar crap instead of additional single-player DLC after the game has released ala GTA V. Ignore me though as I'm an old git and I have just about zero interesting in anything involving multiplayer (and I'm definitely not subscribing to a service to get access to it either ). -
Haha, top 100 RPG's of all time...not something that really interests me personally. I enjoy the odd one or two (and I'd probably be slammed HARD by RPG fanatics for liking and disliking what I do about the ones I like or dislike) but I generally have always preferred other genres. I'll still happily take a real-time RPG over just about any turn-based game though only because I feel it's almost like cheating (you should be allowed to pause, YES! but taking your time with each and every move just makes it friekin' chess!) and mostly pretty boring to play.

Winter starting here so we'll probably be dry for the next few months (still waiting for our previous water restrictions to be lifted even though we had some good rain in the first three months of this year). Birds are still currently singing though even if most of our trees have lost their leaves so all is good!

Question is what would you want from a collectors edition to make it worth buying? I'd love a decent set of dice, some playing cards and printed rules of their mini-games like liars dice, poker, etc. all themed accordingly. A nice printed map would also be welcomed (i.e. none of these crappy digital bonuses that almost never justify the cost of the game).

Cool! Now time to start making some youtube vids with him causing havoc!

I've actually started playing this again but on Android this time around (played it through first on my PS2 and then a second time on PC) and while I'm not very far into it I must say it's amazing how far phones have come to be able to run this. I should probably root my phone so that I can use a PS3 control with it and then share the screen to my TV so that I can play in bed when I can't sleep... Anyway I would love a second version and just thinking about it makes me want to give the game a proper play through again on my PC. I wonder if there were any mods for the PC version?

^^^^ That would actually be pretty useful for the next disco/rave we have planned Agree that in general you shouldn't overdo it unless you can switch it off easily enough. I have a motherboard that glows and a graphics card that can flicker based on the GPU activity (and some other nifty settings) and while it's pretty cool during the day it can be a bit much at night when it's darker but at least it can be controlled via software. For showing off though (or taking somewhere and showing off your build/overclocking skills) I guess it does bring some extra attention your way.

Oh yeah! I haven't gotten very far in the tech tree just yet but it is listed there (Atomic bomb). Needs 5000x science packs though for six different colored science packs so it looks like it's going to be hectic...I'll probably need it though at that point as I'm sure the critters would have become even more of a pain then what they currently are in my new run.

He didn't get the next Bully though? It's amazing in it's current state even if it isn't the final version yet

Yeah I understand that and I know it wouldn't be right for someone to release content created by Rockstar even if it was free. They reserve the right to allow this while others may be a bit more willing i.e. Blizzard is pretty much okay with a lot more in my opinion provided you make said content available via their platform and using their software to present it. Would make it much easier to swallow if we were at least going to get the original RDR on PC (or at least some news that RDR2 will eventually make it's way to the platform).
-
All hypothetical you say? Okay I'm game then. Too soon really for me to take any bets however come end of July I'll be willing to jump in. Okay that's a cop out so here is a better alternative: * No release date announced at E3 exclusively via the Sony conference: $500k it will NOT release this year still. * Info released at E3 Sony conference but without a release date: $250k it won't release this year still * Info release prior to E3 directly from Rockstar but without a release date: $100k it won't release this year still BONUS: - General feeling at this point in time: $15k that it won't release this year still (this probably goes up by 5k a month until we get some concrete info from them). - $500 million it won't release on PC this year. Now to make this more interesting I'll eat the paper cover and manual from my copy of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare if they do release it on PC this year still with your choice of any hot sauce (available in my country or couriered to me from you) - max 3 hot sauces.

Loads of cheese and bacon! Then there's these guys that make me hungry most of the time:

This is very sad news especially if they don't ever plan on releasing the original Red Dead Redemption on PC. I understand that they have every right to protect their IP but at the same time it annoys me if the content was from the original game and presented in one of their own original game engines. (i.e. if you own GTA V on PC and you own a legit copy of Red Dead Redemption on console then you should be able to enjoy some fan content that was built with passion and not asking for money (from what I could see)). I guess it ultimately comes down to them making sure that people are focusing on their online instead of anything else Ah well...another nail in the coffin for getting to play on PC anytime soon it seems (at this rate it looks like I'll have to either buy some hardware that allows Mouse/Keyboard input to my PS3, a decent emulator or for some miracle to bring the power of fast internet to my PC that allows me to use PS Now).

So in waiting we obviously all get up to different things. One of my massive time sinks is Factorio. Now I've been waiting patiently for their next release for what feels like an eternity so I thought I'd check if anyone else has this addiction? For those of you familiar with the game (that have at least launched a rocket or many) you can check out their updated Fun Friday Facts here (it almost has me more excited than RDR 2 at this point): https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-187 For those of you that are not familiar with Factorio at all I suggest you try the demo available here on the steam store page (it's free after all): http://store.steampowered.com/app/427520 For those of you that own/play the game and that aren't interested, don't let it hit you on the way out lol:

Probably also a bit girly and not really video game inspired but this is Snowball V we're talking about here! Yes, V!

Saints Row 2: Free! Get it from gog on their main page here: https://www.gog.com/ Saints Row 2 brings true freedom to open-world gaming. Players can play as who they want, how they want, and with whomever they want in this sequel to the much acclaimed and tremendously successful Saints Row. Set years after the original, the player finds himself in a Stilwater both familiar and strange and challenged with bringing the Saints back as the rightful kings of Stilwater and bringing vengeance to those who wronged him. Limitless Customization - Play as fully customizable characters that are male, female or something in between. Vehicles can be visually customized as well as performance tuned. Cribs and even gangs all have an amazing degree of detailed customization options. Multiplayer - Co-op full story campaign has seamless integration (for example one player drives while the other shoots). Competitive MP pushes the boundaries of immersion in a living Stillwater environment fully populated with police, innocent bystanders and rival gangs. Killer Combat and Awesome Vehicles - Planes, helicopters, motorcycles, boats and cars can be piloted and used as weapons. On the ground new combat options include melee, fine aim, and human shield. Freedom to Explore - More missions, activities, diversions, races, weapons, vehicles, cribs, city districts, and interiors than ever before. Over 40 story missions with additional bonus missions take place in a transformed Stilwater that is over 50% larger than before.

Bring on the "Melons", "Grapefruits", "Honkers", "Hooters", "Puppies", "Chi-Chis", "Funbags", ... I say! Only want it because we couldn't "score" in the previous game thanks to John having a wife (and being faithful lol). Oh if Amanda from GTA V ever found out what I had been up to with Michael (even after she came back with the kids) then I'd be in real hot water.

I use both but with anonymous accounts. Use them mostly to get free stuff (where social media is required) and to also follow others to get my news feed instead of having to visit the sites directly each on their own.

I like the idea of better hunting myself even if I don't like the idea of hunting in real life (unless it's for people lol). In a way it wasn't too bad in the first game (we could use bait and also stalk to a certain degree) but having it a bit more fleshed out would be nice. One example I can think of is catching smaller game with traps and then using these smaller creatures as bait for larger animals. Probably quite a few ways they could expand on this too (I think old Trevor from GTA V had some unique hunting moments too with wind direction playing a bigger part however I loved hated being stalked myself and then being killed because I was too slow to realize what was happening)

Thoughts on 3 protagonists in RDR2 like GTAV?
Jamesie replied to Hazed0NE's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I'd actually dig having a cowgirl and a cowboy to switch between. Another spin, have a "good" guy and a "bad" guy that you switch between. The game could then play as "first part as bad guy", next part as "good guy" then in the middle you play with them both and are sometimes forced to work with them in (maybe in some twisted ways too as you progress) and then end up having to make some decisions along the line and are eventually forced to pick who you really want to be at the end. -

The plan is that there is a "banker/dealer/roller" so to speak, someone that doesn't participate in the game itself. Here is a fleshed-out example where I am the dealer with two players participating (up to five can play): Start Dealer: Jamesie Player A Player B Dealer setup Dealer rolls sets of random dice and posts values to each player. Each player starts with five dice. I created a quick little app that rolls the dice for us if anyone is interested otherwise these can be rolled by a few sites online. Player A (sent to Player A by the Dealer so only the Dealer and Player A know the values): Player B (sent to Player B by the Dealer so only the Dealer and Player B know the values): Banker decides on who plays first (unless one of the players from a previous game was the winner in which case the challenger). Let's say Player A goes first in which case they would reply to the topic with their guess. Here are two possible ways how this first round might play out: It could be slow if people are offline between rounds however this could either be part of the fun or we could have an automatic discard of a players dice if they fail to play a round - say after a day or so of not responding.

I really do hope there is some decent swimming and while I do like the idea of some underwater exploration I'm quite happy to just know that we won't die when entering the water. On the one hand I can understand why they prevented this in earlier versions of GTA (to prevent us accessing certain islands too soon) so let's hope that this is true. Now if they do plan on blocking off certain portions of the map then to be honest I'd actually prefer that they let us start off without knowing how to swim (shouldn't instantly kill us if we enter/fall into water but forces us to the closest shore) and then maybe have a small mission that then teaches us to swim.
