It sounds like a glitch. If you bought the ammo at the store (make sure it's the correct ammo - varmint rifle ammo is .22!) it should go automatically into your weapon store. If you ordered via catalogue, you have to pick it up either in camp or post office. Try reloading and trying again.

What does it do? Do you lose anything/gain anything?

Thanks, but not only am I on xbox I'm also a massive introvert. Cool offer though

It's temperamental. For every, say, three hours I play, I probably get errored out once. I dont find that much of a chore unless it's in the middle of something - which is dead annoying!
-
I'm no PVP expert - not by a long stretch. But my core answer would be: depends upon your play style. Do you want to snipe people from a long distance and use the same rifle for hunting? Bolt action. Do you want a rapid fire, medium range rifle? Lancaster repeater. Do you want to save money, are fine getting medium range headshots in PVP, and want to hunt birds? Varmint rifle.

I think I've done about a dozen or more hideouts and got 1 map.

The carbine, especially with basic ammo and if uncleaned, is really only any use for headshots. It's weak sauce. If you want to be able to do real damage with a repeater with bodyshots then you have to upgrade to a litchfield or lancaster, preferably with rifiling and upgraded ammo etc. Of course, if you are happy with always going for headshots you're simply better off with the varmint rifle (top tier PvP weapon until they nerf it). And if you want to maximise damage for body shots and arent attached to the rate of fire of repeaters then obviously shottys and bolt action are the way to go. Or a bow. Or dynamite!

Would have been funny if you had lasso dragged the troll onto the campfire ... :)

Salmon nod trout are moneymakers for sure.

I Like the idea of some sort of link between story and RDO.

If I lost my lure I'd cry ...

What you spent your hard earned grind dollars on?

I get bored quickly doing the same things, so I do 'circuits' or 'routes' to keep it varied. Typically, I mark a way point on the map as a half way point, then after reaching it mark the butcher for the return journey. Whilst on one of my expeditions I'll shoot most small game and birds I come across; investigate and loot any open buildings; collect a few bunches of herbs; take out two or three big game; do a spot of fishing; clear out any bandit camps or deal with an ambush and loot the bodies; and maybe commit a murder or three with lone riders (I'm slowly lowering my honor down so as to unlock final story missions). Then I'll do a round a series events, do any treasure maps I have, then go shopping.

Player menu - affects stamina and health drains.

How weight works in RDO is largely a mystery, and doesn't seem all that intuitive. From what I can gather, though, your best bet is to eat a cooked meat, drink a moonshine, then eat a candy, followed by fast travelling somewhere. Do that about 3 times per in-game day cycle for 3 days. This is largely based upon other forum posts here and elsewhere rather than my personal experience.
-
Some are easy on your own, others harder. If you're in a posse, though, you get less loots (distribution) and only 1, I think, gets any treasure/map.

Is that Jim Morrison as a cowboy?

Tbh, my top 10 priority list, in order, for fixes is: 1) Sort game crashing bugs (not that I've these affect me too often) 2) Slightly increase rewards for stranger missions 3) Have some sort of punishment system for free-roam trolls and series rubber-band xp farmers 4) Stop the camp moving around so much and make it more functional 6) Decrease the cost of cosmetic items, like clothes, bedrolls and gun metals 7) Increase number of emotes (or add generic character voices if poss) - especially playing a harmonica/banjo 8 Allow more/full character appearance re-adjustment post creation (even if it costs) 9) Increase transport options (trains, canoes, balloons, paddle steamers) 10) Add minigames
-
...And i want a harmonica! But, yeah, camp is a waste of time really. Go there if it's close (totally random) and I'm in a posse just to RP for five minutes. I most often cook elsewhere.

Anyone tried any?

Good to know . Fishing is pretty good too.

I think saving regularly as well as eating often is key. I went to average. . Probably won't last, but it is possible.
