  1. I sympathise, it'd do my head in! I feel very lucky at the moment to have an xbox. i hope they fix it soon for you all - the game is great, and deserves to be played 'correctly'.
  2. Yes, it is a bit depressing. The glitches and the ease with which one can accidentally commit a crime in a town prevent me from giving it a solid 10/10. It's more a 9 or 9.5. If I was a PS player I'd be even more irritated (blur). It's a truly impressive game, with excellent story/dialogue, remarkable immersion and detail, gorgeous graphics, fun gameplay - but sadly marred by some sloppy control functionality, silly glitches, slightly too fast day/night cycle, slightly too harsh crime detection/bounty system.
  3. That's a pretty messed up glitch! I've encountered a few glitches - spanish subtitles, floating items, being unable to speak to anyone + frozen, but all have been sorted by either changing a setting on/off (subtitles) again, or reloading.
  4. Is there a danger of ending up with a load of useless 'junk' weapons on your inventory/wheel? Or can you sell off one's you don't want (like the typical revolver)? I've never really bothered with picking stuff up unless I didnt already have it or really want it (I love my raccoon hat!).
  5. Yes, I believe you can. At the stables.
  6. The game does 'play' better with a 'slow' mindset. It seems a deliberate stylistic choice, and it seems to me that you get more out of the game by slowing things down a bit. Although I too suffer from the temptation to smash through 'quests and hunts'.
  7. I agree - one drag smoking is odd
  8. Not as far as I know. I doubt it.
  9. Yeah, I found it - got the tip off, checked, and its in the guide too. But the guide also says the law will inevitably come after you - so I guess no way to prevent that.
  10. The best horse is whatever one I'm riding when fleeing the law
  11. Hank. I love my reverse dapple thoroughbred with braided tail. Cool as!
  12. I think it's pretty obvious what a de luxe bath is, especially given where their hands go and what Arthur says! Found in every town ... I dread to think how much super-gonorrhoea my Arthur has now - those baths are essential for maintaining stats and cleanliness
  13. I echo mostly what Kean 1 says. It's mostly about playing careful and cautious. The two biggest problems are: 1) accidental crimes - often through me pushing a wrong button (user error) and drawing my gun, hitting them with a horse, or aiming at someone I meant to talk to etc. It's annoying because the complexity of the controls make this a semi-regular occurrence, but I have just learned to play more slowly, be more careful about what buttons i press in towns, and as I get more used to the controls it'll get better. Dont ride through streets, walk slowly, keep guns holstered etc - what Kean says If I do make a terrible error, I just reload a previous manual save and start over (I strongly suggest regular manual saves because of this issue). 2) high bounties - yeah the bounties (esp after story missions) can be high. But not crazy, nor unplayable. To pay off the story $300 one, for example, I stopped doing missions for a couple of hours, just sold almost everything I had, and hunted for a bit plus robbed a couple of people without getting caught. Took about two hours (starting from about $10 and a bunch of regular items) - and although irritating, I enjoyed the hunting and exploration and found all kinds of stuff while doing it. then went to post office. Bounty cleared, job done. I now try to keep a bounty reserve fund in cash on me - about $100 - as I go, to make paying bounties off quicker and easier.
  14. As already noted, changing settings is the way to go My first recommendation to all new players is to first of all change the settings before playing - to make the game easier I recommend having auto-run, wide lock-on, hold not press, and adjusting the targeting/aim movements. It's also much easier in third person farthest distance rather than first person or third person close-up, IMHO.
  15. As already noted, I believe legendary stuff teleports to the trapper. Other pelts/skins vanish
  16. I have the ultimate edition on xbox, pre-downloaded from store etc. I believe i have everything extra: the map, I think, is the one found in the burnt out jail cell in the burnt out town near the river; the talismans are in my inventory (though only one can be worn on the boots) - if you check your player/inventory details you'll hopefully find it active (doesn't need equipping or wearing to work) the free guns are at the Valentine gunsmiths free horse(s) at valentine stables (I suggest the reverse dappled thoroughbred) the survival kit is a mix of tonics etc in your inventory the bonuses are active (can be manually turned off), check your player stat details Hope that helps
  17. The only times I've been unable to manually save from the Story Menu is when I'm within a mission. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you haven't got some mission or bounty or story element active before trying to manually save. You could also try turning auto save off/on again. Sorry, no great ideas about this.
