Help with Duels

I can not figure out how to draw in duel fights..  The screen says lightly press R2 to fill up meter and then fully press R2 to draw. I have tried this over and over and my character will not draw his gun. What am I doing wrong????????

Not entirely sure, haven't gotten a chance to duel. Make sure your not reading the instructions wrong if the game says lightly press L2 instead of R2, double check that's what the game says, if your doing everything correctly and it's not working, report it to Rockstar as you may encountered a bug.

Hey, so I figured out the issue by testing and you’ll hate the results but your controller is probably busted, I had the same issue as you did. You can switch the control schemes to test for yourself by going to controls and switching it to a different layout (example, if you use standard FPS, use Southpaw). This can also affect shotguns, bows, and lassoing so it’s a good idea to check. Rockstar Games uses pretty sensitive controller schemes when making their games so most likely you’ll need a new controller. Hope I was able to help!

Yeah it worked fine on my game. Lightly hold R2 until it's filled up, and then pop a shot.

I really think this is a bug. I have the same problem. It only works when you switch your control settings to alternate so you can fire with R1.

 

I heard people say that most likely your R2 button is a little bit broken and can't feel the difference between light and heavy pushing. I think this is BS because a lot of people have this issue. Hope Rockstar fix this problem of duelling because it's starting to get annoying.

I really wish there was a way to practice dueling sort like the Kingdom Come Deliverance training mechanic.

In my experience, you'll actually want to press R2 twice after filling up the meter. Lightly hold R2 to fill up the meter, then press and release R2 to draw your weapon and bring up dead eye, and then aim and press R2 again to fire. 

I practiced how to duel on the mission The Noblest of Men and a Woman. You'll get into a couple duels and if you die, just restart the checkpoint and it should restart right when the duel starts
