I create  a new topic for the petition:

This is the new version.

Many users of the ps4 pro that bought red dead redemption 2, have huge problems with the blurred image quality of the game. The game is unplayable in motion, because of the image quality. We wait for a patch or a fix since the releaseday. We wrote tickets to rockstar and receive strange generated answers. We receive unqualified answers in the support chat. Switching the videosettings to 1080p mode isn´t the optimal option for a 4k TV user. Turn off HDR, how the support it subscribes is not a solution. Changing the complete Tv settings for only one game isn´t acceptable. The blur has nothing to do with our Tv´s. I´m using a hdmi premium cable and a Tv with nanocell technologie. We receive answers that this issues were causes from our Tv´s. No this is´nt the reason for the issues. This game is offered by Sony together with the Ps4 Pro in a bundle. It is advertised with "best gaming in 4k and full hdr support. This game is causing headaches and hurt the players eyes. We receive no real answers of the support. It exists a large thread with videos, images and a lot of comments. The community of rdr2.org do comparisons to other big open world titles, that shows the console can handle a higher image quality. I can understand that the quality of the XBox One X version must be the best, because of more memory and cpu power, but the ps4 pro version blur issues are unacceptable.
We can only play the game in the 1080p full hd resolution without hdr to fix some of the blur issues, which is no option for me.

Please fix the blur issues!
- button to turn off motion blur and depth of field would fix the blurred image
- native resolution of 1440p.
- sharpen slider of the 1080p mode
- fix supersampling blur for full hd tv users

We like all the wild west scenario of the game and want play it now.
Please give us better support.

I don't know if anyone else has blurry images on xbox S.

But since the patch i get mushy graphics in some cases.

For instance, after the update i wanted to check if i got still framedrops in Valentine. Something seemed off, when i rode through the town. I moved closer to the TV and realized, that the outlines of buildings and the textures got blurry (not the ground though).

The same happens to me from time to time out in the wild. That's probably R* understanding of "performance fix"...

Besides, i don't get the sharp drops of the framerate in towns any longer - i get constant microstuttering.

I have a standard flatscreen 1080p display, nothing fancy with HDR. Before the update the picture was really nice...

I'm SO disappointed by R* :(

Today I played RDR2 Online. In addition to blur problems, online mode is virtually unplayable by frame rate drops. Certainly had moments when the frame reached 20 or less. Congratulations Rockstar

I have been in touch with Rockstar since I saw the issue for blurry image and poor HDR of RDR2 on PS4 Pro. They have NOT yet resolve the issue or keeping us in radar that they are working on fixing 4k and HDR for both XB1X  and PS4 Pro. Its a big disappointment from Rockstar. If anyone out there who works closely with Rockstar PLEASE send the report to fix this issue. I am desperate to play this game in better quality.

To push to boundaries of the open world, they implement too many things and the console systems just cannot handle it. Put it like this, there is so many textures and objects in Red Dead Redemption 2, it literally strains our consoles because it's struggling to handle everything.

The funny thing is that they cut a lot of things, there are almost no people on the map (besides the online gaming players) and even when there is almost nothing happening on the screen, the frame rate drops a lot! I do not remember this happening the first time I played, maybe because I played for the second time in another location on the map. Even so, it was a terrible experience. Expected more, even coming from a video game that is not as powerful as a computer.

Another possible reason for reduced performance is if your console, or other devices on your home network, are doing other things while playing the game.

For me, I've had this happen many times while playing Overwatch on my PS4. I'll be in a hurry to get on and start playing in a match. Normally my connection averages around 25ms for latency in an OW match on PS4. I'm using a wired LAN to my Cable TV internet connection. Which is really good. I'll hastily hop on, and get in a match, but then notice really bad frame drops or stalls and terrible lag! What's causing this for me? One of two things are.

1 - The PS4 I'm playing on is downloading a patch for one of my other games.

2 - My PC is downloading a game, or patch from STEAM, on my home network.

3 - My internet connection is unusually slow for reasons outside of my home network. Doing an internet speed test will show that.

In the above examples, I've seen my latency in PS4 OW spike up on average to around 250ms+ or higher. I wanna say maybe as high as 750ms. Turning off STEAM, and/or pausing my PS4's download usually fixes things for the first 2 examples. #3 usually fixes itself within a while. Though sometimes it's not until the next day.

If you are having unusually poor game performance try checking those things out.

This is what i do when playing anything online, first thing i do when powering up is to check for updates,if its a large update i pause it and finish downloading later.Obviously if the game requires the update to let you play,GTSport,GTA, then you dont have any choice.

As regards to the choppy frame rates i havent had these issues with the game, but thats just me.My internet speed seems to be around 60mbps or so

Hi, so I always play with the pc off and my internet is relatively good, about 70mb. It really can happen to give a lag if there's something coming down from the psn while I'm playing online, but it rarely happens, and I'm always looking at it if I feel like there's something weird. Also I turn off all applications before playing and my internet is connected directly with the cable. It can be because of their own servers with problems, it may be that in certain parts of the map the frame rate really drop, it may be because it is still an online beta, but the fact is that it is not good at the moment!

Looks like Just Cause 4 os another game with annoying blur but that case is making much more waves than the blur in RDR2.

Yesterday I watched the DF video and the motion blur really looks even worse than the one used in RDR2. In the comments said that the producer promised that in the next update they will put an option to disable the motion blur. Just Cause 4 looks very heavy and the frame rate is quite stable in the pro ps4, of course they sacrificed a lot of resolution, up to 1080p when many things happen on the screen. We'll see if Square Enix will release an update with the option to disable motion blur, but I do not think that will happen, and if I do, I doubt the frame rate remains stable. After RDR2, I'm sure they're using that strong motion blur on the consoles because the consoles just could not keep up the frame rate without using this garbage effect

So that's 999,995 people laughing about a petition Rockstar will never acknowledge.   Gotta love how this generation thinks a petition is the answer for everything 🤣  44 pages of beating the dead horse (and resurrecting it and beating it again, repeatedly) in an unofficial fan forum Rockstar most likely doesn't even read.

The petition took a long time to happen. If the petition would change someting or not, still it was much better than sitting and saying  "this generation bla bla bla". I believe that the majority here are adults, and especially in this discussion, adults and from different countries. If the discussion is silly, or has no relevance to you, keep to yourself, otherwise it seems that you just came here to troll and say that you know more than other people.

Is anyone else having issues on the PS4 pro with blurry graphics. I am having issues on my PS4 pro (I’m using a lg oled) and the middle to long distance graphics are terribly blurry. The strange thing is it seems to fix itself dependant on the time of the day

i have seen a reddit post with other users complaining about the same thing and it’s possibly due to the PS4 not being able to display in true 4K. Apparently the Xbox one x dosent have this blurry issue

has anyone else experienced this and is rockstar going to fix it?

Its because ps4 doesnt have true 4k it has simulated 4k. Switch to Xbox

This has nothing to do with the blur/hdr problems, but i wanted to mention for those having also great frustrations about the online part, it got an update which seem to balance out a lot of things.

First patch for online

BTW i also noticed the number of pages went down with 20 and i have no clue how nor why!

I seem to have a pretty similar issue, although it's not bad enough that it takes away from my experience. I haven't owned a console in a very long time, but I had to go out and pick up a PS4 for this game ( And God of War). I typically play games on my PC which has superior hardware and can run pretty much any game maxed out smoothly. I just figured that the PS4 was having trouble running the game at certain times when things seem to get a little blurry/laggy, but it really isn't all that bad. Aside from that, the graphics and details are amazing, possibly better looking than nearly any other game on my PC or at least right on par. I'm assuming RDR2 will come to PC eventually but I just couldn't wait. Anyways, at least I know I'm not the only one having an issue like this but I don't find it to be that bad and something I can deal with. I may try some of the suggestions posted here if I continue noticing it as I'm really just getting started with chapter 3 still.

  • Added fixes for crashing issues with Red Dead Redemption 2 version 1.04.
  • Added fixes for stuttering/lag issues.
  • RDR2 update 1.04 has fixed some glitches.
  • Added fixes for framerate drop and freezing issues.
  • Added performance and stability improvements.
  • Gameplay improvements added with Red Dead Redemption 2 patch 1.04.
  • Added other minor fixes and changes with Red Dead Redemption 2 version 1.04.

Frame rate is better now playing with the supersampling on, so for those who play on a 4k tv, too. As I already played in 1080p and there were no drops, for me nothing changed, but I tested with the supersampling enabled and really was improved.

Why they gave us no option to switch to 1080p. This crap is unplayable in fake 4k mode. The biggest disapointment of the year for me.

But you can play in 1080p, you just put the console in 1080p and disable the suplersampling. It gets much sharper and even in the game options a bar appears to increase or decrease the sharpness. It looks better, but the motion blur is still there, and it seems that all the problems with those many filters get more visible. But the framerate is very stable, more than in xbox x. Of course, it's a "forced" option. It was to have this option in the game.
