Fernando Gallieri Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Hi! I just hunted down a jaguar, skinned it, and put the skin on my horse (thought maybe I could sell it later) - now it seems like the skin is stuck on my animal. Even when I buy a new horse the skin is automatically thrown over the new horses back. When I approach it there is no option to remove the skin. Am I missing something?
MJROu812 Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 That doesn't sound right...you did sell the pelt right?
Fernando Gallieri Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 No I was carrying it after skinning the jaguar and put it on my horse's back. Via square (stow) - after that I couldnt interact with it anymore and now it seems to be stuck on whatever horse I ride
Benjo Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Just now, Fernando Gallieri said: No I was carrying it after skinning the jaguar and put it on my horse's back. Still, I kinda like it.

Don't skin it this time.
Aimesleje Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Actually, only skin giant animals that you can't carry. Small animal skins will be stuck on your horses ass like a rug.
MJROu812 Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Im just wondering if its a glitch or its the way they coded it?
Kean_1 Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 I had a problem with the legendary grizzly. It disappeared when I happened across another large animal (elk I think) and skinned that. In my case, because these two animals were large rolls, I think it automatically got rid of the one I had because there was no room? I guess I won't know until I start really diving into the game.
Kyle Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 You have to have your horse with the skins on it next to you at the butcher. Then you can sell the skins on the horses back
NightFly Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 (edited) I think this is a bug. I’m experiencing same thing. Theres one boar pelt on the back of my horseback I can’t shake. Tried the suggestions above like hunting another large animal then selling it at the butcher; carcass, pelt and all, but that one boar pelt still remains. Removing the Saddle removes the pelt, but putting the saddle back on re-adds the pelt Things ive tried: - removing saddle, putting saddle back on - stabling horse, saddling different horse (pelt just gets transferred to the back of current horse) - buying new saddle (pelt gets transferred to new saddle and current horse) This is extremely maddening Edited October 27, 2018 by NightFly

Kyle Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Seriously, just have your horse standing right next to you at the butcher. I literally just did this and sold all the pelts on the horses back
SofaJockey Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Have you tried donating it your camp for crafting? Works for me, you don't even have to take it off the horse. 1

Just not this one boar pelt 1

Just not this one boar pelt same thing has happened to me with Alligator Skin, I have done everything from try to sell it to switching horse and it is still there. Im hoping the next patch fixes it becuase it is seriously annoying.

Just not this one boar pelt UPDATE, I think i have just found a way to remove it. Go hunting and collect 3 or 4 pelts then go back to camp and sell them, when i did that it seemed to take away the glitched one, I didnt get anything for it but at least it's gone. I removed the saddle and put it back, it still appears to be gone so try it out and let me know👍 1
Fernando Gallieri Posted October 28, 2018 Author Posted October 28, 2018 I could sell it in town, but could not sell or donate it at pearson in camp. But it seems to be glitched
MJROu812 Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Hopefully Rockstar will give us a update this week to fix some things, they do have a large support team.
Clockwork Munky Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 There is no glitch. You sell Legendary animals to the trapper who has a stall in St. Denis and various camps around the map. (small paw print icon).
ALetterFromAbrahamLincoln Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 I'm confused. I got the bear through the Hosea mission. Then i was set upon by bounty hunters and I died. So my pelt was lost . Or the game said something like I lost my pelt or to sell it to a trapper. So I went to the trapper and I was able to make the bear head and apparently I have 2 extra pelts left. Did I keep my pelts after dying?
Pobyid Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 I've got the same problem, so annoying having an Alligator skin permanently on the back of my horse. It's definitely a glitch as it's not appearing at all in my horse cargo so I can't sell it or get rid of it!! Any ideas? Did anyone else with this issue have it where the skin wasn't in their horse cargo? 1
MJROu812 Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 I have not ran into this problem yet....knock on WOOD?
ReeseJChang Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Some skin can only be sold to the trapper.
