sega
Sometimes in some deer and cow I didn't have skinning animation. Сharacter starting skinning, and then - boom- he hold skin in his hand. Animations 'skinning' gone. Some one have this issue?

I've only encountered that when there wasn't room for the animation (too close to a rock or my horse). I'm alright with this "bug", since it just cuts out a repetitive animation and saves some time. How many times do you really need to see him skin a deer?
dropkickennedy
I honestly thought you were going to talk about removing the exoskeleton from insects and thought I missed a whole area of the game haha. Yeah, happens sometimes when they are on a hill or if your horse is standing over the carcass. Is what it is. No biggie.

MJROu812
I have encountered this as well, its seems to only happen when your character is near a obstruction....like trees rocks and other things....it might be normal? Then again it could be a bug?
Skysaw
The other option for the way the game could have handled this would have been: "You cannot skin an animal here. Carry it to an open flat area and try again!" Let's be glad they handled it the way they did!

I'm happy with skipping the animation. I wouldn't mind the ability to toggle the animation either. I'd guess that a lot of people are put off by it. Konan
I've had it happen after killing two wolves...one was skinned the "normal" way and the second like the OP described. I thought it was a design decision to speed up time while skinning multiple animals...

Pale Rider
Yea it happens from time to time. Like someone else said, it's mainly when there's an obstruction of some kind. I'm not surprised, it would happen sometimes in the first RDR also
