DavyWhizz
Hi everyone! So I’ve recentlh bought a new 4K tv a Toshiba 50” smart tv to be precise (https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/televisions/televisions/toshiba-50u6863db-50-smart-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-led-tv-10181993-pdt.html?istCompanyId=bec25c7e-cbcd-460d-81d5-a25372d2e3d7&istItemId=-ximptwpmlp&istBid=tztx&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~0000%20(PLA)%20All%20Products~All%20Products~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&kwid=GOOGLE&device=m&ds_kids=92700017216236313&tgtid=0000%20(PLA)%20All%20Products&&gclid=CjwKCAiA8rnfBRB3EiwAhrhBGhj89cqz6EYzdmxedxSy3-5I6GRHV22Q5JrdlxeJ2CooqLjm-wNi5xoC_EgQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) I played Fifa on the PS4 and it was fine, I played forza on my xbox one X and it’s fine. However, when I put rdr2 on as I’m walking about on the game or on horseback the game goes purple or sometimes green?(I’ve attached a photo) Only for a few seconds then heads back to normal. Is there anything I can do? Or is my Xbox screwed. (I’ve only just bought the Xbox in October) any help eould be seriously appreciated thank you
Purple Cactus
Hmm that is a bit strange. Have you looked up your TV to see if it was an issue with your TV? Maybe it is an issue with one of the wires?? I am really not sure dude. I never had this happen to me before.
DavyWhizz
As strange as it may sound I turned it back on last night and it was backgo normsl. 🤞🏻 I’ll keep a close eye on it.

I am guessing this is an issue with one of your wire then. I had this happen with an HDMI cable before. It would do it once in a while and then suddenly all the time. I had no idea what it was till I spotted the wire. It got damaged somehow, I am assuming my bearded dragon had something to do with it that little bastardo. lol

I just had to replace my HDMI cable for this when i got my new xbox one s (i'm too cheap to buy the X still) a few weeks ago. My other Xbox One S my son is now using worked fine on that cable, but it gave me these weird color flashes on the new one. So either bad cable or in the OP's case possibly a loose connection.
DavyWhizz
Went back on it today and no luck. The colour flashes are still consistent. Swapped the HDMI wire and the port in the television, still no luck. what confuses me the most is I played this game “entirety of chapter one” on my parents TV. But when it comes to mine I get the coloured blips. Only on my Xbox and only on Rdr2 rather than my other games. i’ve narrowed it down to a potential 3 problems faulty Xbox HDMI port Television Port faulty faulty RDR2 disc im going to take my xbox back tomorrow along with my TV and hopefully it’s sorted. Volt
The previous TV I was using had a weird issue. Where it would lose the signal on some Cable channels. You'd change the channel and see it fine for a brief period. And then it would go blank like it lost the signal. Change it to a different channel it was fine. The cable guy came over to check it out and he said it was an issue with my TV's HDMI port. Looking at the back of my TV, the HDMI port stuck outward towards the wall. So gravity was constantly tugging the HDMI cable downward, at a 90 degree angle. With the cable dangling where the TV sat on a TV center and looping down to the cable box underneath it. Also, moving things around could also cause strain on it. Over time this appears to have damaged the port. Soon after that, I got a new TV. This was in 2015. I checked the back. It's HDMI ports face downward. This looks to be easier on the TV's HDMI port.
