Assuming the online mode of RDR2 is solid... Is it enough to keep you hooked on playing for many months (even a few years) after completing the story? I know when I finished the story on the first one I found myself get bored of the online pretty fast. I mean I love the game and have played through it a second time but I lose interest soon as the story is done. Both times it happened.

Well yeah. Anyone who plays online games will keep playing if they are good enough. Look at GTA V vs GTA IV. A lot of people stopped playing after awhile.

This. Online multiplayer done right will keep me interested for months. Even if I take a break I would likely come back to it.

If it's anything like GTA Online with new DLC dropping consistently then probably. Actually, they would need to improve on the GTA Online DLC model with some "chunkier" updates and maybe some actual storyline stuff too.

I don't mind paying for DLC but if we are talking like a monthly plan, no thanks. As much as I would love to play it, if it costed me anything outside of buying the game to play online I would be pretty upset.

I made a thread for DLC ideas. I am all for playing the online for a long time after the game is released if they do it right. I feel like we can really see some good stuff coming from this game. They learned a lot with GTA online.

It would have to be something special. I haven't paid to play an online game separate of system memberships since WoW and I gave that game up in the first year of playing it. I loved the game just got sick of paying for it and the time investment needed to make that game worth while.
