Outfits Question

Hello,

When purchasing a new outfit at a General Store or Tailor -  it says that you can choose a 'variation' of the outfit. Does this mean a different color set for the outfit? There's a plus (+) sign next to the outfit so I am guessing you can expand this option? 

If so, I've tried to press every button on my PS4 Pro Controller and I can only seem to purchase the outfit you see Arthur previewing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am not 100% certain so someone may have to verify this but I think you need items to make some of the things on your list there. I didn't spend a whole lot of time messing with my wardrobe to know the specifics of what you can buy and/or wear.

The screenshot is from a General Store where they sell outfits - so has nothing to do with crafting. Thanks for your feedback and input regardless.

@RedDeadAddict try rebooting the game. Usually fixes minor bugs like that.

Is it a bug or something I'm not aware of? I've played this game multiple times.

If you go to a different general store, different town do they sell the same outfit but in a different color?

The new generation of consoles don't force the game to close when you turn off your system. This causes a lot of bugs in most games. Completely exiting the game before turning off the console will solve a lot of problems. 

It's one of those "turn it off then turn it back on" kind of fixes. Can't promise it will work, but it's worth a shot.

No. I believe different towns sell different outfits. 

I'd just like to know if there are variations of the outfit like different color schemes or just the one? I'm just asking because it says at the bottom 'Choose a Variation of ____ Outfit".

Yep, that's what the + is for, different colors.  

i.e. you buy the work jeans, you get the option to choose a color before you purchase them, same with some boots, coats, etc.  There's also a button you can use to view it on you before you buy.  Those are all listed in the tooltips in the lower right corner when you're making your selections through the menus.

That's my question exactly. How do I bring up the menu for different colors? What button do I press!?

Not sure off hand, i'm not at my console.  Look at the tool tips in the bottom right corner.

Did anyone ever figure this out. Still cant change variations when purchasing a new Outfit not hat or pants or vest. But new OUTFIT

Variations is just for changing colors. I always had some options in there myself so I don't know if you need to do something prior to them appearing or what. As mentioned, it might be worth exiting the game and rebooting your system. Maybe save the game under a new file as well.
