SimpleMan
Has anyone noticed the combination lock on the cellar door at lone mule stead? Is there anything that this location offers other than the chest in the shed?

SimpleMan
Yes, the cellar lock is identical to the one at luckys cabin except it is placed at the top of the doors rather than the bottom. I have done some searching online but have not found anything related to this location other than the chest in the shed. Would love to be the first to discover an Easter egg but this late after release I am afraid the door lock may be a red herring.
SNAK3S
I thought this was something when I first came across it but I haven't been able to line it up with anything myself. I know they have quite a few hidden things in the game but I don't think this is one of them.
SimpleMan
Thanks, I am afraid this location may not be designed for story mode or worse may just be a false lead. Edited December 15, 2018 by SimpleMan Misspelling
Harve1138
If you go to the gamepedia page of this location it has a picture of the door open... Not sure what that if anything means but its somthing
Mr. Red47
I just happened to stumble upon this place and the cellar doors were unlocked and actually already open if I did something to get them open I have no idea what it was because I just found the place

I had to actually open it if I remember correctly. Unless I am thinking of a different area.

I'm not really sure about the gun oil though. It's been a while since i had found that place. It might of just been the cartridges.
Kormath
wiki says there's bullets and jewelry there, i'll have to check tonight to see if it's open for me. UKRogue1
Is this not the cabin that John Marston has to rescue a guy from the celler? Its a random encounter - similar to the one near Shady Belle where Arthur has to save the women in the swamp shack after he runs into her husband stumbling on the road begging for help. John runs into a women begging for help and he gets to Lone Stead and they have the guy chained in the celler. Before this - with Arthur - as long as you have the lock breaker purchased from fence at Emerald ranch you can find a chest in a shed across from main cabin - has stuff in it - got it after rescuing Micah from Strawberry as that is where you end up at after the chase. Celler doors are locked at that point.

lumper
These doors will be open in the Epilogue part 2, on your way by there, you should run into a women screaming for help, if you do, she will explain that her husband is in trouble and some men are trying to force him to sell or something, so if you accept her request to help her, then you rush there and find two men hassling her husband in the basement and you can save him, if you do, he thanks you and leaves looking for his wife, I looted the two men but didnt find anything unusual and there wasnt much of anything in the root cellar. I went here earlier with Arthur but everything was locked and nobody was around.

I couldn't remember at what point but you are correct. I was hoping they put something in here like a gun or something.
