DiamondDave
First Texas got hit with that mess and now another hurricane might hit Miami and a chunk of the east coast. It is starting to feel like the weather itself is getting worse. Maybe this is all in my head but I can't help but notice when a giant storm hits one after the other. I don't live in a place that sees much damage due to weather myself but this is some scary crap!
X S
It's definitely relative. When I was younger, I remember we had one summer with a few big hurricanes. I think we reached letter 'S' in the alphabet of naming them because we had so many. That was like 20 years ago. The last two most recent hurricanes, Harvey and Irma, are pretty standard operation. It's when hurricanes start hitting the Northeast cost people start to panic, but even those events occur every 100 years or so. I think a category 3 hurricane hit New York in 1938, and that was a longgggg time ago.

I guess so scientists are saying the next one to hit NY could leave NYC under water, including Long Island and Montauk. Reminds me of Futurama. Scary stuff man. Suck3rPunch3d
Irma did some work in Florida. Holy cow. I was just reading about it. I am SO GLAD I do not live anywhere near where these storms plow through. As for the OP, the weather is getting worse. You can look up statistics of storm patterns. We get far more now than we did just 100 years ago.
GatoNegro
The weather always gets choppy every so many years. I am sure it has something to do with us to some extent. Think about how many people are being born a day vs how many are dying. While we do have the room, we do need to consider building for future resources. I read that by 2050 we could be facing some major issues if we don't.
