Ok, that makes sense. Are 3 plumes a guarantee? I've never paid attention to how many I got.

You'll get 3 plumes regardless of the number of stars it starts out with unless you damaged the carcass by using something more powerful than the varmint rifle or needing more than one shot to take it down with the varmint rifle.

Nice, thanks for the info.  I've been hinting in New Austin a lot lately, so mostly condors. I will have to venture to St Denis and  check these out. I'm attaching a map of where they spawn for everyone to use.

Do you have a map of New Austin where the cougars that @Renascent was talking about spawn around Tumbleweed? I went there last night to check it out because I never go down there, but I couldn't find them.

To the best of my knowledge these are the cougar spawn locations in New Austin.

Here is my crude map @Vaderspupil

The one in Gaptooth Ridge is easy, just right off the pathway. There is a big rock to the left, and often you can kill the cougar while it's resting. If you ride in too fast I find it sometimes doesn't spawn.

The one in Cholla Srings I find more difficult; I don't even really bother with it due to time. If you ride in from the north you can catch it resting. The terrain is rugged but there is kind of a pathway you can follow.
