Mario Odyssey.. Worth?

I have the opportunity to play the game. A cousin of mine brought his Switch up with him when he came in town for the holidays. He said I can borrow it if I want and play but he only has the one game. I have not played a Mario game in quite some years. Is this one any good?

I watched a play-through of it on Twitch. I missed a lot of the story but got the grasp of how the game works. I think it is kind of crap compared to other Mario games. I don't know what it is about the game... It just didn't have the Mario feel to it.

I play some of it and it is dope to me. I wouldn't say it is nothing like other Mario games, I mean you are playing as Mario. 

You still collect "stars" but they are moons now. You still "world hop" just like you did way back in N64's day. I'll eventually get it and play through.

I didn't care for the trailer so I never even thought to give it a chance. Not really my kind of game. If you are on the fence now, best to wait till you can get it dirt cheap.

As a long time Mario fan, I can say it is an enjoyable game that features Mario but not a Mario game. If you get what I mean by that then you will go in knowing what to expect.

I ended up playing it since posting this. I didn't complete it. The game itself is okay but it is too much unlike other Mario games for me to get invested in. I liked the nostalgia aspect but I felt like they were really over reaching for it a bit.
