dIV4r
Anyone know what would cause a faint buzzing sound coming from a computer? It is driving me nuts. When I touch the tower, it stops for a little while and then it starts again. It is a custom built PC, a friend of mine built it but he isn't around to ask, off at college and not responding to text. Anc1entC0re
If you touch it and it stops, it is likely down to a loose screw. You will need to open it up and tighten each one. Other than that, it could be a wire hitting a fan or a part isn't flush with the case and it is causing a vibration. CowBoii
I had this happen once on my old build and it was a loose motherboard. Depending on how you have it mounted in your case, it may not be fitting right and if it leans inward, the vibration from one of the fans could be the noise. I had some wires hitting a fan before because I didn't have them properly tied off. Was very annoying but that is what happens when you build a sloppy computer lol
Purple Cactus
Just open the case and gently tighten the screws. See if that helps. If it doesn't then get someone who knows about PCs to take a look into it for you. I wouldn't tinker around too much if you don't know what you are doing. I ruined a motherboard on an old friend's PC and we basically don't talk anymore lol
