Recommended Posts

This week's update to Red Dead Online brings a slew of new content and bonuses to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, including new clothing options, Ability Card XP multipliers and more. Read on for more details:

The brutal Ancient Tomahawk arrives on Xbox One today alongside the tense action of the Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk Showdown Mode. Previously PlayStation 4 Early Access content, you can grab the Ancient Tomahawk from any of the five Fence locations (Saint Denis, Rhodes, Emerald Ranch, Van Horn or Thieves Landing) and play matches of Make it Count: Ancient Tomahawk as part of the Elimination Series.

More new additions of previously Early Access content now available for Xbox One players include the Perlino Andalusian Horse, Belanger Saddle, Finley Jacket, Stenger Studded Spurs and Caldwell Hat, as well as two new Emotes - "Boast" and "Hey, You." Additionally, the climactic, free-for-all carnage ofLast Stand makes its way to Xbox One.

Two new clothing items, the Common Flat Cap and the Horsfall Overshirt, are now in stock at local Tailors across the five states:

  • Common Flat Cap - A modest design, this smart flat cap is a humble addition to any wardrobe.
  • Horsfall Overshirt - With button detailing and contrasting cuffs, this overshirt is an understated addition to the modern man’s wardrobe. Long lasting wear guaranteed.

The Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue is also currently offering an updated selection of garments and accessories to all outlaws and gunslingers for a limited time only, including the new Griffith Chaps:

  • Griffith Chaps - Warm bison fur paired with tough leather and featuring bold stitches and button-up pockets. Practical yet striking.
  • Charro Jacket - This grand, fully lined, deerskin Charro Jacket features a handstitched brocade and brass buttons on the breast and cuffs.
  • Clymene Coat - A stunning two-tone design, this coat features soft tiered top grain leather and fancy brass buttons.
  • Vaquero Baroque Spurs - Hand tooled embossed leather spurs with ornate 8 point rowels. An arresting design from Vaquero.

All equipped Ability Cards - both Dead Eye and Passive cards - will accrue XP 20% faster all week long wherever you use them, from Elimination Series to Free Roam. For high ranking players, Stables are selling Special Saddles that offer perks like slow Core depletion and regen rates at a 25% discount this week, and Horses that unlock from Rank 41 and above are now available at Rank 40. Meanwhile, all hats requiring a Rank Unlock of 30 and above are being reduced to Rank 10.

We'd like to thank all of our loyal players for continuing to send their to us feedback via the official Red Dead Online Feedback page and encourage you to please keep it coming. We've been working on implementing some of the top-requested features for the next major Red Dead Online update - including the ability to reset your character’s appearance without altering your progress, automatically retaining Playing Style preferences (Defensive/Offensive) when transitioning to and from Free Roam and much, much more.

Thank you Kean_1. Still no bug fix's or known issues posted by R* that I have seen. I wish they would quit drip feeding content and fix the current game. Showdowns not loading, Game crashes, Server Drops, and the odd in game glitches should be the priority. We can't play the game as they intended if the game doesn't work as intended.

This week in Red Dead Online another batch of timed exclusive PlayStation 4 content is unlocked on Xbox One and all players will be getting a wide selection of new clothing items. There are also new XP bonuses in action and Rockstar has also implemented some fan suggestions in the latest update.

Players on the Xbox One and who haven't been able to hop into Last Stand or Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk can finally try out these Showdown modes. Released 30 days go on PlayStation 4, they are now available to all players regardless of platform.

Alongside the two game modes, a whole swath of items have also been unlocked. Previously restricted to PS4, the Perlino Andalusian Horse, the Belanger Saddle, the Finley Jacket, the Stenger Studded Spurs and the Caldwell Hat are now all available on Xbox One, as well as the Boast and Hey You emotes. Obviously, the Ancient Tomahawk weapon has also been unlocked alongside its own mode.

Two permanent and four limited edition clothing items have been made available in Red Dead Online today. The modest but universal Common Flat Cap and the stylish Horsfall Overshirt are both here to stay. You only have a limited time to grab the Griffith Chaps, the Charro Jacket, the Clymene Coat and the Vaquero Baroque Spurs.

If you're looking to boost your character's skills with better abilities, all Ability cards in Red Dead Online accumulate XP at a rate increased by 20%. Additionally, all Special Saddles are on a 25% discount - if you're high enough rank to use them at all that is! Rank 41 horses can be accessed at Rank 40 this week, and all Rank 30 hats are accessible at Rank 10.

A new major update for Red Dead Online is in the works and Rockstar has been listening to player feedback all the way through the beta (and since it ended). Players will soon be able to change their character's appearance without having to delete them and lose their progress, and Playing Style Preferences will carry over with transfers.

Can't believe I glazed over this bit in the original article:

I know several of our community members have expressed an interest in an option like this.  I'm sure they will be happy to see this.
