I think he was just joking around. 

The two wagon types (actually 3) are likely just more ways for people to spend money in the game.  I'd guess the delivery wagons are only for use during delivery missions while the hunting wagon would be available anytime in Free Roam.

I dunno, I’ve read a lot of stuff on here recently from people wanting ultra-realism in red dead.

Agree with you about the real reasons for R* adding multiple wagons tho, $$$.
